2019 Men's South American Volleyball Club Championship
The 2019 Men's South American Volleyball Club Championship was the eleventh official edition of the Men's South American Volleyball Club Championship. It was played by six teams from February, 26 to March 2, 2019, in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil. Sada Cruzeiro won its forth consecutive title, the sixth overall, and qualified for the 2019 FIVB Volleyball Men's Club World Championship. Sada Cruzeiro Vôlei is a Brazilian professional volleyball team based in Contagem, Minas Gerais, Brazil. They compete in the Brazilian Superliga and were the champions in the 2011–12, 2013–14 and 2014–15 seasons. In 2012, 2014 and 2016 won the South American Championship. History Founded in 2006 in Betim, part of the Belo Horizonte metropolitan area in the state of Minas Gerais, Sada merged with Cruzeiro in 2009 and is now based in neighbouring Contagem. The volleyball team was founded in 2006 as "Sada Betim" and had the Grupo Sada as the main sponsor. Throughout the years, Sada, the company based in Betim, Minas Gerais, has become responsible for managing the "Club", and in 2008 the "Associação Social e Esportiva Sada" was created. Osniel Lazaro Melgarejo Hernández (born ) is a Cuban male volleyball player. He is part of the Cuba men's national volleyball team. On club level he plays for Allianz Milano. Career His career started in the provincial club of Sancti Spiritus in Cuba, participating in amateur tournaments. In 2015 he received his first call from the Cuban national team, winning the silver medal at the North American championship, while a year later he won the gold medal at the Pan-American Cup and the silver one on the same tournament with the U23 team.
