2019 Marikina Local Elections
Local elections were held at Marikina on May 13, 2019, as part of the Philippine general election. Held concurrently with the national elections, the electorate voted to elect a mayor, a vice mayor, sixteen city council members and two district representatives to congress. Those elected took their respective offices on June 30, 2019, for a three-year-long term. Marcelino Teodoro and Marion Andres were elected to the mayoralty and vice mayoralty respectively, with the Teodoro being re-elected to his second term and Andres being elected back to the office for a fourth nonconsecutive term. Team MarCy, a coalition between the Nationalist People's Coalition and PDP-Laban won an outright majority in the city council, winning ten seats in the council. Marcelino Teodoro
Marcelino "Marcy" Reyes Teodoro (born August 2, 1970), is a Filipino politician who is the 12th and incumbent Mayor of Marikina. Prior to his election as mayor, Teodoro served as the representative for Marikina's 1st congressional district from 2007 to 2016. Early life Teodoro was born on August 2, 1970, at a small clinic in Barangay Santa Elena, Marikina. He is the only child of Amado Teodoro, a government official, and Lydia Reyes, a teacher. All elected positions above the barangay (village) level were disputed. Romero Federico Saenz Quimbo (born December 12, 1969), better known as Miro Quimbo, is a Filipino politician who served as the representative for Marikina's 2nd congressional district from 2010 to 2019.
