2019 Florida State Seminoles Women's Soccer Team
The 2019 Florida State Seminoles women's soccer team represented Florida State University during the 2019 NCAA Division I women's soccer season. It was the 25th season of the university fielding a program. The Seminoles were led by 15th year head coach Mark Krikorian and entered the season as the defending national champions. The Seminoles finished the season 18–6–0, 8–2–0 in ACC play, to finish in second place. As the second seed in the ACC Tournament, they defeated Clemson in the first round before losing in overtime to Virginia in the semifinals. They received an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament where they defeated South Alabama, Brown, and USF, before losing to UCLA in the quarterfinals. Mark Krikorian (soccer)
Mark Krikorian (born March 28, 1960) is an American sports executive and former soccer coach who is president of soccer operations and general manager of Washington Spirit. A long-time college soccer coach, Krikorian is most well known being the head coach for the Florida State Seminoles women's soccer team from 2005 until his abrupt retirement from coaching in 2022. In 2014, Krikorian led the Florida State Seminoles women's soccer team to their first NCAA Women's Soccer Championship, where they defeated the Virginia Cavaliers 1-0. Krikorian previously coached at Franklin Pierce University and the University of Hartford. Krikorian also served as head coach of Philadelphia Charge of the Women's United Soccer Association (WUSA), which ran for three seasons from 2001 until 2003. He was named WUSA Coach of the Year in 2002. In 2004, Krikorian coached the United States women's under-19 team to the 2004 FIFA U-19 Women's World Championship in Thailand. Clara Schilke ( Robbins; born September 12, 1998) is an American former professional association football, soccer player who played as a midfielder. She played seven seasons of college soccer for the Florida State Seminoles women's soccer, Florida State Seminoles, winning NCAA Division I women's soccer tournament, NCAA championships in 2018 NCAA Division I women's soccer tournament, 2018 and 2021 NCAA Division I women's soccer tournament, 2021, and made the most appearances in program history. She was a three-time All-ACC selection and was named the ACC women's soccer tournament, ACC tournament's most valuable player in 2020 ACC women's soccer tournament, 2020 and 2021 ACC women's soccer tournament, 2021. The Samford Bulldogs are the 17 varsity teams (8 men's and 9 women's) that represent Samford University in NCAA Division I athletics. The men's basketball team made its first NCAA Tournament appearances in 1999 and 2000.They were led by Reed Rawlings, Marc Salyers, and Chris Weaver.
