The 2019 European Cross Country Championships is the 26th edition of the European Cross Country Championships. It was held 8 December 2019, hosted by Lisbon, Portugal. It was the third occasion that Portugal has hosted the championships. The European Athletic Association (more commonly known as European Athletics) is the governing body for Sport of athletics, athletics in Europe. Stephanie Cotter
Stephanie Cotter (born 27 January 1999) is an Irish athlete who specialises in the 1500 metres. Her personal bests are 4:14.96 in the 1500 m and 2:09.23 in the 800 m. Cotter won bronze 2019 European Cross Country Championships. She finished sixth at the 2021 European U23 Championships in Tallinn and has won multiple Irish Championship titles. Isaac Kimeli (born 9 March 1994 in Uasin Gishu County, Kenya) is a Kenyan born Belgian middle- and long-distance runner. He won the silver medal in the 3000 metres at the European Indoor Championships. Kimeli earned a silver in the 5000 metres at the European U23 Championships. Soufiane Bouchikhi (born 22 March 1990 in Sint-Niklaas) is a Belgian long-distance runner. He represented his country in the 5000 metres at the 2017 World Championships narrowly missing the final. Kristian Jones or Kris Jones (born 3 April 1991) is a competitor in orienteering and athletics, competing for Great Britain. He also competes for Lillomarka OK in Norway, Forth Valley orienteers and Wales. Ben Connor (born 17 October 1992) is a British runner who won the Night of 10,000m PBs event at the 2019 British Athletics Championships and the 2017 English National Cross Country Championships. Connor competed in the Athletics at the 2020 Summer Olympics – Men's marathon, marathon event at the delayed 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Career Connor is a member of Derby Athletics Club. Andrew Butchart (born 14 October 1991) is a British runner who competed in the 5000 metres event at the 2016 and 2020 Summer Olympics. He is the current Scottish record holder in the 3000, 5000 and 10,000 metre events. In June 2023, he broke the parkrun “world-record”.
