Kobold Press, also known as Open Design, is an American game company that produces role-playing games and game supplements. History Wolfgang Baur launched Open Design in 2006. Open Design funded projects using a crowdfunding model dubbed "patronage," with the resulting products available exclusively to backers through PDF releases and limited print runs. The first product published by Open Design was ''Steam & Brass'' (2006), a steampunk-themed Adventure (role-playing games), adventure module using the d20 System. Petter Nallo
Petter Nallo (born 1977) is a Swedish game designer and screenwriter who is best known for his work on the role-playing games ''Eon'' and '' KULT: Divinity Lost'', and for co-founding the Swedish games company Helmgast. Early life Petter Nallo grew up in northern Sweden, and started playing both the American role-playing game (RPG) ''Dungeons & Dragons'' as well as Swedish RPGs ''Mutant'', ''KULT'', and ''Eon''. He eventually started to write magazine articles about ''Eon'' for the Swedish games magazine ''Codex''. Career In 2000, as a freelancer, Nallo contributed to the second edition of ''Eon'' being produced by the game's publisher, Neogames. Dominic McDowall-Thomas is a game designer and publisher who has worked primarily on role-playing games and card games. Career Dominic McDowall-Thomas is a leadership and communications consultant. McDowall-Thomas began his relationship with Cubicle 7 on January 1, 2004. McDowall-Thomas and Angus Abranson were friends who regularly gamed and clubbed together, and he agreed to help edit the ''SLA Industries'' books for Abranson, starting with ''Hunter Sheets Issue One''. In late 2006, Abranson and McDowall-Thomas properly formed Cubicle 7 Entertainment Limited, with the two of them as partners. Graeme Davis (born 1958, in Isleworth, England) is a game designer, writer and editor who has worked extensively in the roleplaying game industry. Biography Davis started playing ''Dungeons & Dragons'' in the mid-1970s, shortly after it was first imported into the United Kingdom. After leaving school he worked in the banking industry before studying for a Bachelor of Arts degree in archaeology at the University of Durham in 1979. He graduated in 1982, and started work towards a Doctor of Philosophy degree. Games Workshop's ''White Dwarf'' magazine in 1982 gave Davis his first paid opportunity to write an article about ''Dungeons & Dragons''. A cubicle is a partially enclosed office workspace that is separated from neighboring workspaces by partitions that are usually tall. Its purpose is to isolate office workers and managers from the sights and noises of an open workspace so that they may concentrate with fewer distractions. Cubicles are composed of modular elements such as walls, work surfaces, overhead bins, drawers, and shelving, which can be configured depending on the user's needs. Installation is generally performed by trained personnel, although some cubicles allow configuration changes to be performed by users without specific training. Cubicles in the 2010s and 2020s are usually equipped with a computer, monitor, keyboard and mouse on the work surface. Cubicles typically have a desk phone. Michael O'Brien is a game designer who has worked primarily on role-playing games. Career With David Hall, Nick Brooke and Rick Meints, Michael O'Brien and others staffed the leading Glorantha fanzine '' Tales of the Reaching Moon'' (1989-2002). When new ''RuneQuest'' line editor Ken Rolston kicked off the so-called "''RuneQuest'' Renaissance" for Avalon Hill, his first publication was O'Brien's ''Sun County'' (1992). Kenneth Hite (born September 15, 1965) is a writer and role-playing game designer. Hite is the author of Trail of Cthulhu and Night's Black Agents role-playing games, and lead designer of the 5th edition of '' Vampire: the Masquerade''. Education Hite holds an M.A. in International Relations from the University of Chicago and a bachelor's degree in Cartography from East Central University.
