2019 Campeonato Carioca
The 2019 Campeonato Carioca de Futebol was the 116th edition of the top division of football in the state of Rio de Janeiro. The competition is organized by FERJ. The top four teams in the final standings of the tournament not otherwise qualified will qualify to compete in the 2020 Copa do Brasil. Additionally, the top two teams not competing in any level of the national Campeonato Brasileiro qualify for the 2020 Campeonato Brasileiro Série D. Botafogo were the defending champions. Flamengo won their record 35th Campeonato Carioca after defeating Vasco da Gama in the final. Bangu and Cabofriense qualified for the 2020 Campeonato Brasileiro Série D. The Campeonato Carioca (Carioca Championship), officially known as Campeonato Estadual do Rio de Janeiro (Port., Rio de Janeiro State Championship), was started in 1906 and is the annual football championship in the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It is under the authority of the FERJ or FFERJ (Football Federation of the State of Rio de Janeiro). The first season of the ''Campeonato Carioca'' was played in 1906. It was predated by: the Campeonato Paulista of São Paulo and the Campeonato Baiano of Bahia. Zé Ricardo
José Ricardo Mannarino (born 5 June 1971), known as Zé Ricardo, is a Brazilian professional football manager and former player. He is the current head coach of J2 League club Shimizu S-Pulse. Career Early career Born in Rio de Janeiro, Zé Ricardo represented São Cristóvão and Olaria as a youth, but retired at early age. He subsequently appeared professionally in futsal, but retired at the age of 25. In 1992, aged only 21, Zé Ricardo was appointed manager of futsal club Vila Isabel. Botafogo (local/standard alternative Brazilian Portuguese pronunciation: ) is a beachfront neighborhood (''bairro'') in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Eduardo Allax Scherpel, sometimes known as just Eduardo (born 2 July 1977) is a Brazilian professional football manager and former player who is the current head coach of Macaé.
