2019 Bolivian Protests
The 2019 Bolivian protests, also known as the Pitita Revolution (), were protests and marches from 21 October 2019 until late November of that year in Bolivia, in response to claims of electoral fraud in the 2019 general election of 20 October. After 11 November 2019, there were protests by supporters of the outgoing government in response to Jeanine Áñez becoming the acting president of Bolivia. The claims of fraud were made after the suspension of the preliminary vote count, in which incumbent Evo Morales was not leading by a large enough margin (10%) to avoid a runoff, and the subsequent publication of the official count, in which Morales won by just over 10%. Some international observers expressed concern over the integrity of the elections. While the majority of the demonstrations were peaceful, there were also numerous acts of violence. Electoral fraud, sometimes referred to as election manipulation, voter fraud or vote rigging, involves illegal interference with the process of an election, either by increasing the vote share of a favored candidate, depressing the vote share of rival candidates, or both. It differs from but often goes hand-in-hand with voter suppression. What exactly constitutes electoral fraud varies from country to country. The Christian Democratic Party ( es, Partido Demócrata Cristiano, PDC) is a Christian-democratic political party in Bolivia. Founded on 6 February 1954 as the Social Christian Party ( es, Partido Social Cristiano, PSC), it assumed its present name at a party congress in November 1964. Rafael Quispe
Rafael Arcángel Quispe Flores (born 24 October 1969), often referred to as Tata Quispe, is a Bolivian indigenous activist and politician who served as general executive director of the Indigenous Development Fund from 2019 to 2020. He previously served as a substitute party-list member of the Chamber of Deputies from La Paz under María Eugenia Calcina from 2015 to 2019. Born in Coro Coro and raised in rural poverty, Quispe completed secondary education in El Alto. He studied law at multiple universities, though he never completed a degree. Chi Hyun Chung (, ; ; born 7 March 1970) is a Korean-Bolivian doctor, evangelical pastor and politician. He became notable in the country's media for his statements against the LGBT community. Nationalist Democratic Action
Nationalist Democratic Action ( es, Acción Democrática Nacionalista) is a right-wing political party in Bolivia led by Óscar Daza Márquez. ADN was founded on March 23, 1979 by the military dictator Hugo Banzer after he stepped down from power.
