2019 Belarusian First League
2019 Belarusian First League is the 29th season of 2nd level football in Belarus. It started in April and ended in November 2019. Team changes from 2018 season Two best teams of 2018 Belarusian First League ( Slavia Mozyr and Energetik-BGU Minsk) were promoted to Belarusian Premier League. They were replaced by two lowest placed teams of 2018 Belarusian Premier League table (Smolevichi and Dnepr Mogilev). Last placed team of the last season (Chist) relegated to the Second League. They were replaced by two best teams of 2018 Second League ( Rukh Brest and Krumkachy Minsk), and the league was expanded to 16 teams. Krumkachy Minsk were renamed to NFK Minsk during the winter break. In spring 2019, Dnepr Mogilev merged with Premier League team Luch Minsk, citing the willingness keep the city of Mogilev represented in top flight. The united club was named Dnyapro Mogilev. FC Smolevichi
FC Smolevichi ( be, ФК Смалявічы, russian: ФК Смолевичи), is a Belarusian football club based in Smolevichi, Minsk Oblast. History The team was founded in 2009 as Vigvam Smolevichi. The same year, they debuted in the Minsk Oblast championship. In 2010, they joined the Belarusian Second League. They were renamed to Smolevichi in 2011 and to Smolevichi-STI in 2012. Smolevichi-STI won the 2012 Second League season, and have been playing in the First League since 2013. In January 2016, they reached the agreement with BATE Borisov to become Borisov's team farm club, although the partnership only lasted for one season. Belarusian First League
The Belarusian First League is the second tier of professional football in Belarus. It was created in 1992, following the Belarusian independence. History and format The typical format of the league involves 16 clubs playing a double round-robin tournament over 30 matchdays (with the exception of shortened 1992 and 1995 seasons, which were a single round-robin tournaments). On several occasions the number of participating teams was smaller (15 or 14), due to last minute withdrawals and no teams available for replacement. In most of the seasons, two best teams are getting promoted to Belarusian Premier League, while two worst teams are relegated Belarusian Second League. FC Dnyapro Mogilev
FC Dnyapro Mogilev ( be, ФК Дняпро Магілёў; russian: ФК Дняпро Могилёв) was a Belarusian football club from Mogilev. Their home stadium is Spartak Stadium. History Dnyapro Mogilev was founded in early 2019 as a result of merger between Dnepr Mogilev and Luch Minsk.
