2019 American Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Season
The 2019 American Athletic Conference men's soccer season was the 7th season of men's varsity soccer in the conference. The season began on August 30, 2019, and concluded on November 5, 2019. The regular season culminated with the 2019 American Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Tournament, which was held from November 9 to November 16. The defending regular season and tournament champions, UCF and SMU, respectively, successfully defended their title. Both UCF, SMU, as well as South Florida were selected by the NCAA Selection Committee to the 2019 NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Tournament. SMU reached the quarterfinals before losing to eventual national runners-up, Virginia. UCF lost to SMU in the Sweet Sixteen, and South Florida lost to Louisville in the first round. The Louisville Cardinals men's soccer team represents the University of Louisville in all NCAA Division I men's college soccer competitions. The team presently competes in the Atlantic Coast Conference. The team currently plays in the soccer-specific Lynn Stadium on the campus. Yannik Oettl (born 19 November 1996) is a German footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Indy Eleven in the USL Championship. Career Oettl made his professional debut for SpVgg Unterhaching on matchday 37, on 16 May 2015, in a 1–0 win against Preußen Münster. 2018 Oregon State Beavers Men's Soccer Team
The Oregon State Beavers men's soccer team is an intercollegiate varsity sports team of Oregon State University and competes in the Pac-12 Conference of the National Collegiate Athletic Association. The team was founded in 1988 and has competed in 26 college soccer seasons since that time. The Beavers qualified for the NCAA tournament on six occasions, making their deepest run in the tournament in 2021 where they reached the quarterfinals. The UConn Huskies men's soccer team is an intercollegiate varsity sports team of the University of Connecticut. The team is a member of the Big East Conference of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). History Connecticut soccer existed prior to 1969, but was not considered a major sport and did not even have a real stadium. However, in 1969, Joe Morrone was hired as head coach, and made significant changes that would make the Huskies a premiere program. He started by building Connecticut Soccer Stadium, which now bears his name as Joseph J. Morrone Stadium. Eventually, in Morrone's words, the team became "the Notre Dame of college soccer".
