2019 Africa Cup Of Nations Qualification Preliminary Round
The preliminary round of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualification tournament decided three teams which advanced to the group stage of the qualification tournament. The preliminary round consisted of the six lowest-ranked teams among the 51 entrants: Madagascar, São Tomé and Príncipe, South Sudan, Comoros, Djibouti, and Mauritius. The six teams were drawn into three ties, played in home-and-away two-legged format between 22 and 28 March 2017. The three winners advanced to the group stage to join the 45 teams which entered directly. Matches If the aggregate score was tied after the second leg, the away goals rule was applied, and if still tied, extra time was not played, and a penalty shoot-out was used to determine the winner (Regulations Article 15). 2019 Africa Cup Of Nations Qualification
The 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualification matches were organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to decide the participating teams of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, the 32nd edition of the international men's football championship of Africa. As per the decision of the CAF Executive Committee on 20 July 2017, a total of 24 teams qualified to play in the final tournament. Draw A total of 51 teams entered the tournament, including Cameroon which would have qualified automatically for the final tournament as the hosts before their hosting rights were stripped. Mitsamiouli (population 6,100) is a town on the northwest coast of Grande Comore in the Comoros. History On 23 November 1996, Ethiopian Airlines Flight 961 made a crash-landing in the shallow waters offshore from Le Galawa Beach Hotel in Mitsamiouli. Of the 175 passengers, 125 died, despite rescue attempts by island residents and tourists. Geography Mitsamiouli lies on the northwest coast of the island, along the main coast road RN-1 and RN-3. This coastal road connects it to Djomani and Ntsaouéni further to the south on the west coast and Ivoini on the northeast coast. The RR 122 road runs south from Mitsamiouli and leads to the village of Bangoi Mafsankoa further inland, which has its own mosque.
