2018–19 Reading F.C. Season
The 2018–19 season was Reading's 148th year in existence and sixth consecutive season in the Championship, and covers the period from 1 July 2018 to 30 June 2019. Season review Pre-season On 18 May 2018, Reading announced that they would be taking part in a six-day pre-season training camp in Bad Erlach, Austria, with two friendlies scheduled to be played against as yet un-confirmed opposition. The EFL Cup first round draw took place on 15 June 2018, in Vietnam, drawing Reading at home against Birmingham City. Transfers and contracts Reading announced their first summer signing on 17 May 2018, Andy Yiadom signed a four-year contract with Reading, officially joining his new club on 1 July after the expiration of his Barnsley contract. Luke Southwood
Luke Kevin Southwood (born 6 December 1997) is a professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for club Bolton Wanderers. Born in England, he plays for the Northern Ireland national team. Akin Odimayo
Akinwale Joseph Odimayo (born 28 November 1999) is an English professional footballer who plays as a defender for Northampton Town. Career Odimayo began his career with Reading, turning professional in July 2018, and making his senior debut for the club on 27 August 2019 in the EFL Cup. He moved on loan to Hungerford Town in September 2019, and on loan to Irish club Waterford in February 2020. After being released by Reading at the end of the 2019–20 season, he signed for Swindon Town in August 2020. On 14 May 2021 it was announced that he had been offered a new contract. Andre Maurice Keith Burley (born 22 August 1999) is a professional footballer who plays as a defender for club Oxford City. Born in England, he represents Saint Kitts and Nevis internationally. Club career A youth product of Reading, Burley signed his first professional contract with the club on 2 July 2018. Lewis Moore Ward (born 5 March 1997) is an English professional footballer who last played as a goalkeeper for EFL League Two side Sutton United. Career Reading Ward began his career with Reading, and has a youth loan with Portsmouth during the 2012–13 season. He joined Whitehawk on loan on 10 October 2014, in a deal that lasted until 7 November 2014. Fortuna Sittard (; li, Fortuna Zitterd ) is a football club in Sittard, Netherlands. The club currently plays its football in the 12,500 capacity Fortuna Sittard Stadion and features in the Eredivisie. The club was established through a merger of former clubs Fortuna 54 and Sittardia, which merged as the Fortuna Sittardia Combinatie on 1 July 1968. The Eredivisie (; ''"Honour Division"'' or ''"Premier Division"'') is the highest level of professional football in the Netherlands. John O'Shea
John Francis O'Shea (; born 30 April 1981) is an Irish professional football coach and former player. David Meyler
David John Meyler (born 29 May 1989) is an Irish former professional footballer who played as a central midfielder. After turning professional at League of Ireland team Cork City, Meyler moved to Sunderland in the Premier League in 2008. He joined Hull City in 2013 after a short loan spell.
