The 2018–19 Purdue Boilermakers men's basketball team represented Purdue University in the 2018–19 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. Their head coach was Matt Painter in his 14th season with the Boilers. The team played their home games at Mackey Arena in West Lafayette, Indiana as members of the Big Ten Conference. With a win over Northwestern on March 9, 2019, the Boilermakers clinched a share of the Big Ten regular season championship, the school's 24th championship. They finished the season 26–10, 16–4 in Big Ten play to win a share of the Big Ten regular season championship, the school's conference-record 24th championship. Matt Painter
Matthew Curtis Painter (born August 27, 1970) is an American basketball coach and former player. He is currently the men's basketball coach at Purdue University, having held that position since 2005. Before Purdue, Painter held coaching positions at Southern Illinois, Eastern Illinois, Barton College, and Washington & Jefferson College. Painter runs a motion offense. Painter's teams are also known for their "stout, stingy, defense" and their "overwhelming offense." Since taking the helm at Purdue, Painter's teams have consistently placed in the top 15 of offensive and defensive efficiency nationally. With Painter at the helm, Purdue teams have reached the NCAA Tournament 13 times, with six Sweet-Sixteen appearances, and 1 Elite Eight appearance. 2017–18 Big Ten Conference Men's Basketball Season
The 2017–18 Big Ten men's basketball season began with practices in October 2017, followed by the start of the 2017–18 NCAA Division I men's basketball season in November. The 2018 Big Ten tournament was held at Madison Square Garden in New York. Due to the Big East's use of that venue for the 2018 Big East tournament, the Big Ten tournament took place one week earlier than usual, ending the week before Selection Sunday. As a result, the conference season began on December 1, 2017 and concluded on February 25, 2018. Each team played one road game and one home conference game in the first week of December. Middletown, Ohio
Middletown is a city located in Butler and Warren counties in the southwestern part of the U.S. state of Ohio, about 35 miles (47 km) north of Cincinnati. Vincent Malik Edwards (born April 5, 1996) is an American professional basketball player for BCM Gravelines-Dunkerque of the LNB Pro A. He played college basketball for Purdue University. College career Edwards committed to Purdue from Middletown High School in Middletown, Ohio, choosing the Boilermakers over Michigan. The versatile small forward started beginning in his freshman season, earning Big Ten Conference freshman of the week honors three times. Carsen Cade Edwards (born March 12, 1998) is an American professional basketball player for Fenerbahçe of the Turkish Basketbol Süper Ligi and the EuroLeague. He played college basketball for the Purdue Boilermakers, where he was twice named an All-American. The 2017–18 Texas Tech Red Raiders basketball team represented Texas Tech University in the 2017–18 NCAA Division I men's basketball season as a member of the Big 12 Conference. The 2017–18 Butler Bulldogs men's basketball team represented Butler University in the 2017–18 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. Isaac Haas
Isaac Haas (born October 2, 1995) is an American professional basketball player for the Beijing Royal Fighters of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA). He played college basketball for the Purdue Boilermakers. High school career Haas is the son of Rachel and Danny Haas and grew up in Hokes Bluff, Alabama. He attended Hokes Bluff High School and averaged 18.5 points and 11 rebounds as a junior. Haas committed to Purdue on November 18, 2013.
