2018–19 Florida Gators Men's Basketball Team
The 2018–19 Florida Gators men's basketball team represented the University of Florida in the 2018–19 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Gators were led by fourth-year head coach Mike White and played their home games in the Exactech Arena at the Stephen C. O'Connell Center on the university's Gainesville, Florida campus as members of the Southeastern Conference. They finished 20-16, 9-9 to finish 8th please. In the SEC Tournament, they defeated Arkansas, beat LSU in quarterfinals before losing to Auburn in the semifinals. They received a at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament where they defeated Nevada in the First Round before losing in the Second Round to Michigan. Mike White (basketball)
Michael Emerson White (born March 2, 1977) is an American college basketball coach and former player. He is the head coach of the University of Georgia men's basketball team. Prior to accepting the job at Georgia, White was the head coach of the Florida Gators from 2015 to 2022 and the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs from 2011 to 2015. Playing career White played at Ole Miss from 1995 to 1999. In 1995, White began his four-year collegiate career as a freshman guard for the Ole Miss Rebels men's basketball team. He became a starter in the eighth game of his freshman year and remained a starter for the remainder of his four years at Ole Miss. During White's college career, he had 370 assists, the 6th highest total in Ole Miss history. Marrecus Keyontae Johnson (born May 24, 2000) is an American professional basketball player for the Oklahoma City Thunder of the National Basketball Association (NBA), on a two-way contract with the Oklahoma City Blue of the NBA G League. He played college basketball at Kansas State and Florida. Early life and high school career Johnson grew up in Norfolk, Virginia and originally attended Norview High School before transferring to IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida before his junior year. Noah Locke (born May 10, 1999) is an American professional basketball player for Szedeák of the Nemzeti Bajnokság I/A. He played college basketball for the Florida Gators, the Louisville Cardinals, and the Providence Friars. Early life and high school career Locke began playing basketball at the age of seven. He attended the McDonogh School, where he was coached by T. J. Jordan. As a senior, Locke averaged 21.6 points, seven rebounds and five assists per game. Andrew William Nembhard (born January 16, 2000) is a Canadian professional basketball player for the Indiana Pacers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Christopher Xavier Chiozza (born November 21, 1995) is an American professional basketball player for UCAM Murcia CB of the Liga ACB. He played college basketball for the Florida Gators. Chiozza won an NBA championship with the Warriors in 2022. High school career Chiozza attended White Station High School, where he was coached by Jesus Patino. John Egbunu (born October 31, 1994) is a Nigerian-born American basketball player for Gaziantep Basketbol of the Basketbol Süper Ligi (BSL). Standing 6'10" (2.08 m), Egbunu plays the center position.
