2018–19 Denmark Series
The 2018–19 Denmark Series was the 54th season of the Denmark Series which is a Danish football competition featuring amateur clubs. It is the fourth tier of the Danish football league system. The competition is divided in four groups of ten teams each, based on geographical location. The winner of each group will be promoted to the 2019–20 Danish 2nd Divisions. Relegation from the Denmark Series is wholly dependent on clubs relegating from the Danish 2nd Division; again, based on their geographical location. Because four clubs from west of the Great Belt relegated from the 2018–19 Danish 2nd Divisions, and no teams east of the Great Belt, the 8th, 9th and 10th places of the West Groups (3 & 4) faced direct relegation to the lower tiers. The two 7th places in the East Groups (1 & 2) therefore face each other in direct play-off match for a place in the Denmark Series on a neutral ground. Denmark Series
The Denmark Series ( da, Danmarksserien) is the fifth tier in the Danish football league system. Teams are divided into four groups of ten. The top team in each group is promoted to the Danish 3rd Division. The bottom three teams in each group are relegated to the regional Copenhagen Series, Zealand Series, Lolland-Falster Series, Funen Series, or Jutland Series as is appropriate for each club geographically. Clubs in the Denmark Series are participants in the Danish Cup tournament. The reserve teams of top-flight Danish Superliga and second-tier Danish 1st Division clubs are allowed to play in the Denmark Series, but 1st Division reserve teams cannot win promotion, as they must stay at least two leagues below their first team squads. The Great Belt ( da, Storebælt, ) is a strait between the major islands of Zealand (''Sjælland'') and Funen (''Fyn'') in Denmark. It is one of the three Danish Straits. Gentofte-Vangede Idrætsforening (commonly known as GVI) is a Danish football club based in the Copenhagen suburban area Vangede. The club was founded 21 August 1921 and has since the foundation been playing at Nymosen Sports Park. The club was founded as merger between Gentofte Boldklub and Vangede Idrætsforening before the start of the 1921–22 tournament administrated by the Zealand Football Association (SBU). Avedøre Idrætsforening, commonly known as Avedøre IF, is a sports club based in Avedøre, Hvidovre Municipality, Denmark. The club is mostly known for its association football team that competes in the Denmark Series, the fourth tier of the Danish football league system.
