2018–19 CEV Challenge Cup
The 2018–19 CEV Challenge Cup was the 39th edition of the CEV Challenge Cup tournament, the former CEV Cup. 42 teams were participating from 28 countries. Participating teams Format Qualification Phase (Knock-out with Home and Away Matches): 1st Round (if needed) → 2nd Round Main Phase (Knock-out with Home and Away Matches): 1/16 Finals → 1/8 Finals→1/4 Finals Final Phase (Knock-out with Home and Away Matches): Semi-Finals → Final Aggregate score is counted as follows: 3 points for 3–0 or 3–1 wins, 2 points for 3–2 win, 1 point for 2–3 loss. In case the teams are tied after two legs, a ''Golden Set'' is played immediately at the completion of the second leg. The CEV Challenge Cup is the third tier official competition for men's volleyball clubs from the whole of Europe. It started in the 1980–81 season under the name CEV Cup. In 2007 it was renamed CEV Challenge Cup. Sporting Clube de Portugal is a professional volleyball team based in Lisbon, Portugal. It's the volleyball section of Sporting CP. History Volleyball was introduced in Sporting Clube de Portugal in the thirties by influence of Salazar Carreira, constituting itself the club as one of the founders of the Association of Volleyball of Lisbon, 28 of December 1938. The club would only reach its first titles in the fifties thanks to the dynamism of Professor Moniz Pereira, who was a manager, coach and player of the team that, in the 1953/54 season, broke the hegemony of the Instituto Superior Técnico that until then had conquered all National Championships, which were disputed since 1947. Team Lakkapää (formerly Perungan Pojat and Rovaniemen Santasport) is a professional volleyball team from Rovaniemi, Finland. The team played three seasons in Finland volleyball league, the country's highest level. They won two league championships in 2007 and 2008.
