2018–19 BYU Cougars Men's Basketball Team
The 2018–19 BYU Cougars men's basketball team represented Brigham Young University in the 2018–19 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. It was head coach Dave Rose's 14th and final season at BYU and the Cougars eighth season as members of the West Coast Conference. The Cougars played their home games at the Marriott Center in Provo, Utah. Previous season The Cougars finished the 2017–18 season 24–11, 11–7 in West Coast Conference play to finish in third place. As the No. 3 seed in the WCC tournament, they defeated San Diego in the quarterfinals and Saint Mary's in the semifinals before losing to Gonzaga in the championship game. They received an at-large bid to the National Invitation Tournament where they were defeated by Stanford in the first round. Dave Rose (basketball)
David Jack Rose (born December 19, 1957) is an American college basketball coach and the former head coach of Brigham Young University's (BYU) men's basketball team. A graduate of Northbrook High School in Houston, Texas, Rose played two years at Dixie College in St. George, Utah, later becoming coach at the school. Rose then became co-captain of "Phi Slama Jama," the University of Houston's college basketball squad featuring Clyde Drexler and Hakeem Olajuwon that finished as national runner-up in the 1983 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament. Career Dave Rose was named the head basketball coach at BYU in 2005, replacing Steve Cleveland and began the first of eleven straight 20-win seasons in 2005-06. Rose inherited a 9-21 team and immediately posted a 20-9 record, the second best turnaround in college basketball in 2005-06. 2018 NBA Draft
The 2018 NBA Draft was held on June 21, 2018, at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. National Basketball Association (NBA) teams took turns selecting amateur United States college basketball players and other eligible players, including international players. It was televised nationally by ESPN. State Farm was the presenting sponsor of the NBA draft for the seventh consecutive year. Borah High School
Borah High School is a three-year public secondary school in Boise, Idaho, one of four traditional high schools in the Boise School District. Gavin B. Baxter (born October 16, 1997) is an American former basketball player. He played college basketball for the BYU Cougars and the Utah Utes. The Gonzaga Bulldogs are an intercollegiate men's basketball program representing Gonzaga University. Kaysville is a city in Davis County, Utah. It is part of the Ogden–Clearfield metropolitan area. Oregon State Beavers Men's Basketball
The Oregon State Beavers men's basketball program, established in 1901, is the intercollegiate men's basketball program of Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon.
