2018 Women's International Champions Cup
The 2018 International Champions Cup Women's Tournament was the first edition of a series of friendly women's association football matches. It took place from July 26 to 29, 2018. For the first time, the ICC included a women's tournament. Nearly a dozen of the regular ICC participant clubs expressed interest in sending their women's sides, but the inaugural women's tournament featured just four teams before expanding in the 2019 ICC. The 2018 tournament featured the semi-finals on July 26, followed by third place play-off and final on July 29, all four matches being held at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida. The European participants joined for training sessions at the University of Portland before the tournament. Teams Four teams participated in the tournament. North Carolina Courage
The North Carolina Courage is a professional women's soccer team based in Cary, North Carolina. It was founded on January 9, 2017, after Stephen Malik acquired National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) franchise rights from the Western New York Flash. The Courage is affiliated with the men's team North Carolina FC of the United Soccer League and plays its home games at the Sahlen’s Stadium at WakeMed Soccer Park. In 2018, the Courage became the first team in NWSL history to win the Shield and the Championship in the same season. In 2019, the team became the first team to win the Championship on its home field. A third place match, game for third place, bronze medal game or consolation game is a single match that is included in many sporting knockout tournaments to decide which competitor or team will be credited with finishing third and fourth. International Women's Club Championship
The International Women's Club Championship (IWCC), previously named the mobcast Cup and the Nestlé Cup for sponsorship reasons, was an international association football knockout cup competition contested by women's champion clubs. It was organised by the Japan Football Association and the Nadeshiko League. The first International Women's Club Championship took place in Japan in November 2012 with participation from four teams; Olympique Lyonnais (Europe), Canberra United (Australia), INAC Kobe Leonessa (Japan) and NTV Beleza (cup winner, Japan). The holders are São José, who beat Arsenal Ladies 2–0 in the 2014 final. 2018 International Champions Cup
The 2018 International Champions Cup (or ICC) was the sixth edition of a tournament comprising a series of friendly association football matches. It began on July 20 and ended on August 11. The tournament was won by English club Tottenham Hotspur. Teams A total of 18 teams participated in the tournament. The participants were announced in four waves on April 10, 11, 12, and 17, 2018. On June 18, Lyon replaced Sevilla in the competition. Venues Originally 22 venues for the International Champions Cup were announced on April 13 and 17, 2018, but they were later increased to 23. Of these, 15 were in the United States, 7 were in Europe, and 1 was in Asia. After Sevilla had to pull out (replaced by Lyon), matches due to take place in Warsaw and Zürich were canceled and replaced by matches in London and Faro-Loulé. Heather Ann O'Reilly (born January 2, 1985) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a midfielder for Irish club Shelbourne of the Women's National League. Melike Pekel (born 14 April 1995) is a German-born Turkish footballer who plays as a forward for French Division 1 Féminine club Stade de Reims and the Turkey women's national team.
