2018 UCI Road World Championships – Women's Time Trial
The Women's time trial of the 2018 UCI Road World Championships was a cycling event that took place on 25 September 2018 in Innsbruck, Austria. It was the 25th edition of the event, for which Dutch rider Annemiek van Vleuten was the defending champion, having won in 2017. 52 riders from 34 nations entered the competition. Van Vleuten became the first rider since Judith Arndt in 2012 to defend the world time trial title, finishing almost half a minute clear of her nearest rival. 2018 UCI Road World Championships
The 2018 UCI Road World Championships were held in Innsbruck, Austria. It was the 91st UCI Road World Championships and the third to be held in Austria. The World Championships consisted of a total of twelve competitions, one road race, one team time trial and one individual time trial for men and women, as well as one road race and one individual time trial for U23 riders and juniors. The Tour de Suisse organisers were responsible for the operational organisation of the races. The competitions were very demanding: the 265-kilometre men's road race had nine climbs with around 5000 metres of altitude difference. Because of the many climbs, some sprinters did not participate in the World Championships because they saw no prospect of success for themselves. Grace Brown (cyclist)
Grace Brown (born 7 July 1992) is an Australian road racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Women's WorldTeam . Brown competed in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. She just missed out on a medal in the women’s time trial, finishing fourth. She also competed in the women's road race where she came 47th. Career 2015-2018 seasons Brown started cycling in 2015 after previously being involved in running. She started 2018 riding for Holden Team Gusto Racing. She then joined British UCI team for the latter part of 2018 season after being selected as the recipient of the Amy Gillett Cycling Scholarship. Emilia Fahlin
Emilia Fahlin (born 24 October 1988) is a Swedish road racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Women's WorldTeam . Fahlin has won the Swedish National Road Race Championships three times (2008, 2013, 2018) and the Swedish National Time Trial Championships three times in a row from 2009 to 2011. Career Born in Örebro, Sweden, Fahlin competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London during the women's road race, finishing 19th, and in the women's time trial, finishing 17th. At the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, she finished 27th in the Women's road race. Two weeks later, in late-August 2016, she won her first World Tour race, the Open de Suède Vårgårda in Sweden. Trixi Worrack
Beatrix "Trixi" Worrack (born 28 September 1981) is a German former professional road racing cyclist, who rode professionally between 2000 and 2021. The winner of the 2003 German National Road Race Championships, Worrack's career highlights included winning the 2005 Primavera Rosa (the women's Milan–San Remo), capturing the overall title at the 2004 Tour de l'Aude Cycliste Féminin and competing in the women's road race at five Summer Olympic Games between 2004 and 2020. Lisa Brennauer (born 8 June 1988) is a German former Cycle sport, racing cyclist, who rode professionally between 2009 and 2022, for six different teams. Georgia Williams (born 25 August 1993) is a New Zealand professional racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Women's WorldTeam . Career She took up cycling whilst attending Albany Junior High School, where testing at the school's sports academy suggested that she was suited to the sport, having previously competed in netball and water polo. She took two silver medals at the UCI Juniors Track World Championships: one in the team pursuit in 2010 and another in the individual pursuit in 2011. Williams joined the team in 2013.
