2018 Trofeo Alfredo Binda-Comune Di Cittiglio
The 2018 Trofeo Alfredo Binda-Comune di Cittiglio was the 43rd running of the Trofeo Alfredo Binda, a women's cycling race in Italy. It was the third event of the 2018 UCI Women's World Tour season and was held on 18 March 2017. The race started in Gavirate and finished in Cittiglio, on the outskirts of Lago Maggiore in Northwest Italy. Polish rider Kasia Niewiadoma won the race after a solo attack. A group of 20 riders was formed during the final lap, on the Colle del Casale, from which Niewiadoma broke clear at 8 km from the finish. She held her lead to claim her third World Tour win. Chantal Blaak won the sprint for second place at 23 seconds ahead of Marianne Vos. Teams Twenty-four teams participated in the race. 2018 UCI Women's World Tour
The 2018 UCI Women's World Tour was a competition that included twenty-four road bicycle racing, road cycling events throughout the 2018 in women's road cycling, 2018 women's cycling season. It was the third edition of the ranking system launched by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) in 2016. The competition began with 2018 Strade Bianche Women, Strade Bianche on 3 March and concluded with the Tour of Guangxi on 21 October. Anna van der Breggen of the Netherlands was the defending champion. Van der Breggen, riding for the team, was unable to defend her title, as she finished third in the standings behind compatriots Annemiek van Vleuten () and Marianne Vos, who was riding for the squad. Elisa Longo Borghini (born 10 December 1991) is an Italian professional road cyclist, who rides for UCI Women's WorldTeam . During her career, Longo Borghini has won two bronze medals in the road race at the Summer Olympic Games, taking third-place finishes in Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo. Lucy Kennedy (born 11 July 1988) is an Australian former racing cyclist, who last rode for UCI Women's Team, UCI Women's WorldTeam . A former triathlete, track and cross country runner, Kennedy was the recipient of the 2017 Amy Gillett Scholarship to do a European tour of races with the High5 Australian Development Team. She has degrees in Civil Engineering, and Commerce, working as a traffic modeller. Kennedy joined UCI Women's Team for the 2018 season. Cecilie Uttrup Ludwig (born 23 August 1995) is a Danish professional road cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Women's WorldTeam . Career As a junior, she competed at the 2012 UCI Road World Championships and the 2013 UCI Road World Championships. Katarzyna "Kasia" Niewiadoma (born 29 September 1994) is a Polish racing cyclist, who rides for UCI Women's WorldTeam .
