2018 Toronto FC Season
The 2018 Toronto FC season was the 12th season in the history of Toronto FC. Toronto FC reached the 2018 CONCACAF Champions League Finals, Champions League finals for the first time in their history. After a 2–1 home loss to C.D. Guadalajara, Guadalajara on April 17 in the first leg of the CONCACAF Champions League final, TFC would win the return away leg 2–1 on April 25, leading to a draw on aggregate, but lost 4–2 in the penalty shootout. Later in the season, on September 19, Toronto FC played against Tigres UANL in the inaugural 2018 Campeones Cup, Campeones Cup, losing the match 3–1 at home. Toronto Football Club (commonly known as Toronto FC or TFC) is a Canadian professional soccer club based in Toronto. Clinton Robert Irwin (born April 1, 1989) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a goalkeeper for Minnesota United. Early life Irwin attended high school at Charlotte Christian School. As a student, he played basketball, where he was a teammate of future NBA player Stephen Curry. Irwin attended Elon University, where he made 54 appearances for the Elon Phoenix over four seasons. Nicholas Stuart Hagglund (born September 14, 1992) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a defender for Major League Soccer club FC Cincinnati. Career Xavier University Hagglund played four years of college soccer for the Xavier Musketeers. He made 81 appearances, starting in 80, while scoring four goals and adding 11 assists. Toronto FC Academy, also known as TFC Academy, is the youth academy and development system of Canadian Major League Soccer club Toronto FC. The academy has divisions from U14 to U19 and includes over 110 young players. The senior academy team is known as Toronto FC III. History The TFC Academy's U-18 squad began playing in the Canadian Soccer League in 2008, with the U-16 squad competing in the CSL Reserve Division as TFC Academy II. Ashtone Morgan
Ashtone Wayne Henry Morgan (born February 9, 1991) is a Canadian soccer player who plays as a left-back for Forge FC in the Canadian Premier League. Morgan was the first graduate of the TFC Academy to play for the Canadian National Team. Early life Ashtone attended Northern Secondary School in Toronto and played for the Toronto Lynx U-13 squad that travelled to England to play other youth academies. Drew Moor
Drew Moor (born January 15, 1984) is an American former professional soccer player who played as a center-back in Major League Soccer. Born in Dallas, Moor began playing college soccer for the Furman Paladins before transferring to the Indiana Hoosiers. After three seasons with the Hoosiers, and helping the side with the 2004 College Cup, Moor was drafted in the first round of the 2005 MLS SuperDraft by FC Dallas with the 6th overall pick. Justin Morrow (born October 4, 1987) is an American retired professional soccer player. Morrow is the executive director of ''Black Players for Change'', which in 2020 won the MLS Humanitarian of the Year Award. College and amateur career Morrow attended Saint Ignatius High School, where he was an adidas/NSCAA high school All-American. He played college soccer at the University of Notre Dame. He was a Big East Academic All-Star in both his sophomore and junior years as well as his team's captain during his senior season. Caleb Patterson-Sewell (born May 20, 1987) is an American soccer coach and former professional player, who currently serves as assistant coach and assistant sporting director with Memphis 901 FC in the USL Championship. Syracuse Orange is the NCAA college soccer team for Syracuse University in Syracuse, New York. They are a Division I (NCAA), Division I team in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
