The 2018 Torneo Descentralizado de Fútbol Profesional (known as the 2018 Copa Movistar for sponsorship reasons) was the 102nd edition of the top flight of Association football governed by the Federación Peruana de Futbol (FPF) ( es, Federación Peruana de Futbol or ). There were 16 teams in play; Alianza Lima were the defending champions. Sporting Cristal won their nineteenth domestic championship on 16 December after beating Alianza Lima in both legs of the finals. Competition format The season was played in four phases: Torneo de Verano (Summer Tournament), Torneo Apertura (Opening Tournament), Torneo Clausura (Closing Tournament), and the Playoffs. In the Torneo de Verano, teams were separated into two groups. Teams in each group played two matches against each team in their group, once at home and once away. The 2019 Liga 1 de Fútbol Profesional (known as the 2019 Liga 1 Movistar for sponsorship reasons) was the 103rd season of the highest division of Peruvian football. A total of 18 teams competed in the season, with Sporting Cristal coming in as defending champions. Binacional were the champions, winning their first league title by defeating Alianza Lima in the finals by a 4–3 aggregate score. Competition format The season will be divided into three stages: Torneo Apertura, Torneo Clausura, and the Playoffs. The first and second stages will be two smaller Apertura and Clausura tournaments of 17 games each. Comerciantes Unidos is a Peruvian football club from Cutervo, Cajamarca. It plays in the Peruvian Primera División. 2017 Copa Perú
The 2017 Peru Cup season ( es, Copa Perú 2017), the largest amateur tournament of Peruvian football, started in February. This edition has featured a change, with the elimination of the Regional Stage and the inclusion of participants from all the Regions of Peru in the National Stage. The 2017 Segunda División season, also known as Copa Best Cable Perú 2017 for sponsorship reasons, was the 72nd edition of the second tier of Federación Peruana de Futbol.
