Real Salt Lake, often shortened to RSL, is an American professional soccer franchise based in the Salt Lake City metropolitan area. The club competes as a member club of Major League Soccer (MLS) in the Western Conference. RSL began play in 2005 as an expansion team of the league. The club was founded in 2004 when the club's first owner and founder was awarded an expansion berth in Major League Soccer. The club plays its home games at America First Field, a soccer-specific stadium located in the Salt Lake City suburb of Sandy, Utah, which they shared with their sister team, Utah Royals FC. Before moving to America First, RSL previously played home games at Rice-Eccles Stadium, located on the campus of the University of Utah, from 2005 to 2007. Nick Besler
Nick Besler (born May 7, 1993) is an American professional soccer player. Career College Besler spent his entire college career at the University of Notre Dame. He made a total of 72 appearances for the Fighting Irish and tallied two goals and five assists. He also helped the Fighting Irish win the 2013 College Cup. Professional On January 15, 2015, Besler was selected 5th overall in the 2015 MLS SuperDraft by the Portland Timbers. On March 29, he made his professional debut for USL affiliate club Portland Timbers 2 in a 3–1 victory over Real Monarchs SLC. Besler signed with United Soccer League side Real Monarchs on January 2, 2017. Joao Jimmy Plata Cotera (; born March 1, 1992) is an Ecuadorian footballer who plays for Delfín. Club career LDU Quito Plata began his career in the youth ranks of hometown club Barcelona before joining the Alfaro Moreno Academia in Guayaquil in 2009. After impressing at Alfaro Moreno he joined the youth ranks of LDU Quito. Alfredo Ortuño Martínez (born 21 January 1991) is a Spanish professional footballer who plays as a forward for FC Cartagena. Club career Born in Yecla, Region of Murcia, Ortuño graduated from Albacete Balompié's youth setup. Danilo "Danny" Israel Acosta Martínez (born 17 November 1997) is a Honduran professional footballer who currently plays for Orange County SC and the Honduras national team. Quincy Amarikwa
Quincy Obinna Amarikwa ( ; born October 29, 1987) is an American soccer player. Career College and Amateur Amarikwa attended Liberty High School. He was a member of the Bakersfield Alliance club soccer team and played college soccer at UC Davis. In 2008, he led the team to the second round of the NCAA Tournament for the first time in school history. During his college years, Amarikwa also played with Bakersfield Brigade in the USL Premier Development League. Robert O'Shea "Shea" Salinas (born June 24, 1986) is an American former professional soccer player who played as a winger. Career Youth and college After attending Grapevine High School in Grapevine, Texas, Salinas played college soccer at Furman University, where he was named to the NSCAA All-America Third Team and the NSCAA All-South Region First Team in 2007, and the NSCAA All-South Region Third Team in 2006, as well as receiving First Team All Southern Conference honors in both 2007 and 2006. Kino Sports Complex
Kino Sports Complex is a multiple-use sports complex in Tucson, Arizona. The Arizona Diamondbacks and Chicago White Sox formerly utilized the complex's main ballpark, Kino Veterans Memorial Stadium, for Cactus League games each March and had their minor league complexes on-site. The ballpark was also home to the Tucson Sidewinders of the Pacific Coast League for the team's last decade in Tucson, running from the stadium's 1998 opening season to the 2008 season. The ballpark was a temporary home (2011–2013) to the Tucson Padres (formerly the Portland Beavers) of the Pacific Coast League during the team's relocation to El Paso, Texas.
