2018 Punjab Provincial Election
Provincial elections were held in the Pakistani province of Punjab on to elect the members of the 17th Provincial Assembly of the Punjab on 25 July 2018, alongside nationwide general elections and three other provincial elections in Sindh, Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The remaining two territories of Pakistan, AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan, were ineligible to vote due to their disputed status. After the elections, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf was able to form the government in Punjab, with Sardar Usman Buzdar as the Chief Minister of Punjab. Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan
Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (; TLP) is a far-right Islamic extremist political party in Pakistan. The party was founded by Khadim Hussain Rizvi in August 2015. It became the fifth largest party at the 2018 Pakistani general election, but failed to win any seat in the National Assembly or the Punjab Assembly. However, it was successful in gaining three seats in the Sindh Assembly. Tehreek-e-Labbaik is known for its protests in opposition to any change to Pakistan's blasphemy law. Bahawalpur Province ( ur, ) is the name of a proposed province consisting of the state of Bahawalpur in Pakistan. It was recommended by the parliamentary committee on new provinces in January 2013, to be created in the southernmost region of Pakistan's Punjab province. The idea was not regarded possible as Bahawalpur lacked the infrastructure of a major city and was dependent on nearby Multan.
