2018 Premier Volleyball League Open Conference
The 2018 Premier Volleyball League Open Conference is the sixth conference of the Premier Volleyball League (''33rd conference of the former Shakey's V-League''). The conference started on September 22, 2018 at the Filoil Flying V Centre, San Juan, Metro Manila, Philippines. Teams played a double-round robin elimination round to determine the final four teams that will advance to the semifinals. Premier Volleyball League
The Premier Volleyball League (PVL) is a women's professional volleyball league in the Philippines organized by Sports Vision Management Group, Inc. The league began in 2004 as the Shakey's V-League, a women's collegiate league. Since 2011, the league became open to participation of corporate clubs and other non-collegiate teams. The Spikers' Turf has served as the men's counterpart of the league. History Shakey's V-League (2004–2016) The Premier Volleyball League was established in 2004 as the Shakey's V-League by Sports Vision Management Group, Inc. led by Jun Bernardino, Ricky Palou, Moying Martelino, and Rhea Navarro who were businessmen previously known for being men's basketball patrons. Ateneo Blue Eagles
The Ateneo Blue Eagles are the collegiate varsity teams of the Ateneo de Manila University that play in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP), the premiere collegiate league in the Philippines. The collegiate women's varsity basketball team is called the ''Lady Eagles''. The Ateneo collegiate men's varsity basketball team was not always called the Blue Eagles. It got the name Blue Eagles when Ateneo adopted the ''Eagle'' as its mascot in 1938. Prior to that, from 1914 it was known under different names. Pocari Sweat Lady Warriors
The Pocari Sweat Lady Warriors were a professional women's volleyball team that played in the Premier Volleyball League. The team was owned by Federated Distributors, Inc., exclusive distributors of Pocari Sweat in the Philippines. History The Pocari Sweat Lady Warriors debuted in the Philippine Superliga (PSL) in 2014 as the original Mane 'n Tail Lady Stallions. The following season, the team changed its name to the Philips Gold Lady Slammers, while a new team assumed the Mane 'n Tail name. On April 4, 2016, the team officially announced it will join the Shakey's V-League and play as the Pocari Sweat Lady Warriors. Iriga City Oragons
The Iriga City Oragons is a professional women's volleyball club that played in the Philippine SuperLiga. The team is owned by the Local Government of Iriga City. In 2018, the Lady Oragons returned to the Premier Volleyball League during the reinforced conference and is joined by the Philippine Navy players. Beach Volleyball Republic, Inc. (BVR) is an organization aimed for the development and growth of beach volleyball in the Philippines formed in June 2015. History Co-founded by former Ateneo Lady Eagles volleybelles and current professional players Charo Soriano, Gretchen Ho, Fille Cainglet, Fille Cainglet-Cayetano, Dzi Gervacio and Bea Tan.
