The 2018 Penn State Nittany Lions football team represented Pennsylvania State University in the 2018 NCAA Division I FBS football season. James Franklin (American Football Coach)
James Geoffrey Franklin (born February 2, 1972) is an American football coach and former player. Franklin previously served as the head football coach at Penn State Universityfrom 2014 to 2023 and Vanderbilt University from 2011 to 2013. Early years Franklin was born in Langhorne, Pennsylvania, on February 2, 1972, to James Oliver and Jocelyn "Josie" Franklin. He attended Neshaminy High School in Langhorne, and went to college at East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania, where he played as a quarterback all four years. In that position, he set seven school records and was a Division II player of the year nominee in 1994. ''Sports Illustrated'' named him a National Player of the Week that season. The 2017 NCAA Division I FBS football season was the highest level of college football competition in the United States organized by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) in 2017. Yetur Akkub Gross-Matos (born February 26, 1998) is an American football defensive end for the Carolina Panthers of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Penn State and was drafted by the Panthers in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Early life and high school career Gross-Matos was born in Atlantic City, New Jersey but grew in Fredericksburg, Virginia. When Gross-Matos was two years old, his biological father died after a boating accident while trying to rescue Yetur from drowning. Amani Oruwariye (born February 9, 1996) is an American football cornerback for the Detroit Lions of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Penn State. Early years Oruwariye lettered for three years at Gaither High School in Tampa, Florida. As a senior, he was voted team MVP and invited to the Hillsborough County All-Star Game.
