2018 Okolo Slovenska
The 2018 Okolo Slovenska () was a five-stage men's professional road cycling race. The race is the 62nd edition of the Okolo Slovenska. It was rated as a 2.1 event as part of the 2018 UCI Europe Tour. The race started in Poprad on 12 September and finish on 16 September in Galanta. The Frenchmen rider Julian Alaphilippe of won the general classification, by taking first place at the summit finish in Štrbské Pleso. He won the race by sixteen seconds overall, from 's Jan Tratnik, Benedetti completed the podium. 2018 UCI Europe Tour
The 2018 UCI Europe Tour was the fourteenth season of the UCI Europe Tour. The 2018 season began on 25 January 2018 with the Vuelta a Mallorca, Trofeo Porreres, Felanitx, Ses Salines, Campos and ended on 16 October 2018 with the Nationale Sluitingsprijs. French rider Nacer Bouhanni (), who scored 1,124 points in the 2017 UCI Europe Tour, 2017 edition, is the defending champion from the 2017 UCI Europe Tour. Throughout the season, points are awarded to the top finishers of stages within stage races and the final general classification standings of each of the stages races and one-day events. Matteo Pelucchi
Matteo Pelucchi (born 21 January 1989) is an Italian former professional road cyclist, who last rode for UCI WorldTeam . He also competed in track cycling at a junior level. Career He rode for a year with in 2012, and four years with between 2013 and 2016. In October 2016 he and IAM teammate Aleksejs Saramotins were announced as members of the squad for 2017. Pelucchi joined in 2019 after two years with , before joining his sixth professional team in 2020, . In December 2020, Pelucchi signed a one-year contract with , for the 2021 season. Nitra
Nitra (; also known by other alternative names) is a city in western Slovakia, situated at the foot of Zobor Mountain in the valley of the river Nitra. It is located 95 km east of Bratislava. With a population of about 78,353, it is the fifth largest city in Slovakia. Nitra is also one of the oldest cities in Slovakia; it was the political center of the Principality of Nitra. Rüdiger Selig (born 19 February 1989) is a German professional road racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . Born in Zwenkau, Selig competed as an amateur until the middle of 2011, when he joined as a ''stagiaire''. In October, he won the Binche–Tournai–Binche race. In September 2015 announced that Selig would join them for the 2016 season, in order to strengthen the team's sprint train. Dubnica Nad Váhom
Dubnica nad Váhom (; Slovak before 1927: ''Dubnica'', german: Dubnitz an der Waag, hu, Máriatölgyes, before 1899 ''Dubnic(z)'') is a town in the Ilava District, Trenčín Region in Slovakia. Geography It is located on the Váh river, in the Ilava Basin, between the White Carpathians and Strážovské vrchy mountains, at an altitude of 242 metres. The town's cadastral area is composed of Dubnica and "city part" Prejta, annexed in 1973. History Traces of settlement in the place of today's town are from the Stone Age. Ružomberok (; german: Rosenberg; hu, Rózsahegy; pl, Rużomberk) is a town in northern Slovakia, in the historical Liptov region. It has a population of around 27,000 inhabitants (45,000 with nearby villages). Etymology The name of the initial settlement located on today's Makovický street was ''Revúca'' ( Slovak "roaring", derived from the Revúca river). Bob Jungels (born 22 September 1992) is a Luxembourgish road bicycle racer, who rides for UCI WorldTeam . Career Born in Rollingen, Mersch, Luxembourg, Jungels competed in the Tour de France for the first time in 2015, as part of the UCI World Tour team , finishing 27th overall and 5th in the young rider classification. Etixx–Quick-Step (2016–20) Jungels signed for for the 2016 and 2017 seasons. He was named in the start list for the 2016 Giro d'Italia where he finished sixth overall and won the young rider classification. In 2017 he confirmed his ambitions in the general classification by finishing 8th in the Giro d'Italia. He also defended the young rider classification from the previous edition.
