The 2018 Northwestern Wildcats football team represented Northwestern University during the 2018 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Wildcats played their home games at Ryan Field in Evanston, Illinois and competed in the West Division of the Big Ten Conference. They were led by 13th-year head coach Pat Fitzgerald. Pat Fitzgerald
Patrick William Fitzgerald Jr. (born December 2, 1974) is the current head coach of the Northwestern University Wildcats football team. He was selected after the unexpected death of Randy Walker and announced at a press conference on July 7, 2006. He was 31 at the time, making him the youngest head football coach in the Big Ten Conference and NCAA Division I FBS by five years. Fitzgerald would go on to become the longest-tenured head coach in Northwestern football history and entering the 2022 season is the fifth longest-tenured head coach in Division I FBS. As a linebacker for Northwestern from 1993 to 1996, he won both the Bronko Nagurski Trophy and Chuck Bednarik Award twice as the best defensive player in college football. The 2018 Michigan State Spartans football team represented Michigan State University in the 2018 NCAA Division I FBS football season. Montre Hartage (born June 16, 1997) is an American football safety who is a free agent. He played college football at Northwestern. College career Hartage was a member of the Northwestern Wildcats for four seasons. Padriac William Fisher is an American football linebacker for the Michigan Panthers of the United States Football League (USFL). He played college football for the Northwestern Wildcats. High school career Fisher attended Katy High School in Katy, Texas. Clayton James Thorson (born June 15, 1995) is an American football quarterback for the Houston Gamblers of the United States Football League (USFL). He was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the fifth round of the 2019 NFL Draft. He played college football at Northwestern. The Associated Press poll (AP poll) provides weekly rankings of the top 25 NCAA teams in one of three Division I college sports: football, men's basketball and women's basketball.
