2018 New Hampshire Gubernatorial Election
The 2018 New Hampshire gubernatorial election took place on November 6, 2018, to elect the governor of New Hampshire. Incumbent Republican Party (United States), Republican Governor Chris Sununu won re-election to a second term, defeating former state senator Molly Kelly. Sununu was the first incumbent Republican to win reelection as governor since Steve Merrill was reelected in 1994 New Hampshire gubernatorial election, 1994. Primary elections were held on September 11, 2018. Andru Volinsky
Andru H. Volinsky (born March 13, 1956) is an American politician, attorney, and social justice advocate who served as a member of the Executive Council of New Hampshire from the 2nd district from 2017 to 2021. As an attorney, Volinsky served as lead counsel in the landmark decisions in ''Claremont School District v. Governor of New Hampshire'', in which the New Hampshire Supreme Court recognized a constitutional right to a public education (1993) and held New Hampshire's school funding system unconstitutional (1995). The ''New Hampshire Union Leader'' is a daily newspaper from Manchester, the largest city in the U.S. state of New Hampshire. On Sundays, it publishes as the ''New Hampshire Sunday News.'' Founded in 1863, the paper was best known for the conservative political opinions of its late publisher, William Loeb, and his wife, Elizabeth Scripps "Nackey" Loeb. The Secretary of State of New Hampshire is a constitutional officer in the U.S. state of New Hampshire and serves as the exclusive head of the New Hampshire Department of State. New Hampshire's 1st Congressional District
New Hampshire's 1st congressional district covers parts of Southern New Hampshire and the eastern portion of the state. The district contains parts of Hillsborough, Rockingham, Merrimack, Grafton, and Belknap counties; and the entirety of Strafford and Carroll counties. Christopher Charles Pappas ( ; born June 4, 1980) is an American politician who has been the U.S. representative from New Hampshire's 1st congressional district since 2019. From 2013 to 2019, he represented the 4th district on the New Hampshire Executive Council. WMUR-TV (channel 9) is a television station licensed to Manchester, New Hampshire, United States, broadcasting ABC programming to most of New Hampshire. Dan Feltes (born March 23, 1979) is an American lawyer, a member of the Democratic Party, and represented the 15th district of the New Hampshire Senate from 2014 until 2020. Feltes was chair of the Senate Ways & Means committee and was vice chair of the Finance, Energy & Natural Resources, and Rules & Enrolled Bills committees.
