2018 NHL Stadium Series
The 2018 NHL Stadium Series (officially the 2018 Coors Light NHL Stadium Series for sponsorship reasons) was a regular season National Hockey League (NHL) game played outdoors, part of the Stadium Series of games held at football or baseball stadiums. The Washington Capitals defeated the Toronto Maple Leafs, 5–2, at Navy–Marine Corps Memorial Stadium, the home stadium of the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, on March 3, 2018. This was the only game in the Stadium Series scheduled for the 2017–18 season (as opposed to multiple games in 2014 and 2016), and marked the first appearance of a Canadian team in the Stadium Series. 2017–18 Toronto Maple Leafs Season
The 2017–18 Toronto Maple Leafs season was the 101st season for the National Hockey League franchise that was established on November 22, 1917, and its 91st season since adopting the Maple Leafs name in February 1927. The Maple Leafs posted a regular season record of 49 wins, 26 losses and 7 overtime/shootout losses for 105 points, qualifying for the Stanley Cup playoffs for the second consecutive season. Jakub Vrána (born 28 February 1996) is a Czech professional ice hockey forward for the Detroit Red Wings of the National Hockey League (NHL). Vrána was selected by the Capitals in the first round, 13th overall, of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. Vrána won the Stanley Cup as a member of the Capitals in 2018. John Carlson (ice Hockey)
John Carlson (born January 10, 1990) is an American professional ice hockey defenseman and alternate captain for the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was drafted by the Capitals in the first round, 27th overall, in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft after playing a year in the United States Hockey League (USHL) with the Indiana Ice. Before reaching the NHL, Carlson played junior hockey in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) with the London Knights and played professionally with the Capitals' American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Hershey Bears. Yevgeny Yevgenyevich Kuznetsov (russian: Евгений Евгеньевич Кузнецов; born 19 May 1992) is a Russian professional ice hockey forward currently playing for the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League (NHL). West Point is the oldest continuously occupied military post in the United States. The United States Military Academy (USMA), also known metonymically as West Point or simply as Army, is a United States service academy in West Point, New York. Michie Stadium
Michie Stadium is an outdoor football stadium on the campus of the U.S. Military Academy in West Point, New York. The home field for the Army Black Knights, it opened in 1924 and has a current seating capacity of 38,000. The stadium sits at the upper portion of campus, directly west of Lusk Reservoir.
