2018 NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Season
The 2018 NCAA Division I men's soccer season was the 60th season of NCAA championship men's college soccer. The regular season began on August 24, 2018 and continued into the first weekend of November 2018. The season culminated with the four-team College Cup at Meredith Field at Harder Stadium in Santa Barbara, California, December 7–9, 2018. There were 206 teams in men's Division I competition. The Maryland Terrapins won their fourth NCAA title, defeating the Akron Zips 1–0. Changes from 2017 Coaching changes New programs Mount St. Mary's University reinstated their men's soccer program, which had been dormant since the end of the 2012 season, for the 2018 season. Andrew Gutman
Andrew David Gutman (born October 2, 1996) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a left-back for Major League Soccer club Atlanta United. Career Youth and college Prior to college soccer, Gutman played high school soccer for one season at Hinsdale Central High School before joining the Chicago Fire's youth academy for his sophomore through senior years of high school. Ahead of the 2015 NCAA Division I men's soccer season, Gutman signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Indiana Hoosiers men's soccer program. He immersed himself as an immediate starter with the program starting in all 21 matches for the Hoosiers during the 2015 season. 2018 Maryland Terrapins Men's Soccer Team
The 2018 Maryland Terrapins men's soccer team represented the University of Maryland, College Park during the 2018 NCAA Division I men's soccer season. It was the 73rd season of the university fielding a program. The Terrapins were led by 26th year head coach, Sasho Cirovski. Despite a relatively poor regular season performance in Big Ten play, a strong RPI allowed the Terps to earn an at-large berth as the 11th seed in the NCAA Tournament. In the tournament, the Terps went on their 14th ever College Cup run. The Gonzaga Bulldogs () (also known unofficially as the Zags) are the intercollegiate athletic teams representing Gonzaga University, located in Spokane, Washington, United States. The East Tennessee State Buccaneers men's soccer team is a varsity intercollegiate athletic team of East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tennessee, United States. The team is a member of the Southern Conference, which is part of the National Collegiate Athletic Association's Division I. ETSU's first men's soccer team was fielded in 2008. Mark Plotkin is an American soccer coach who coaches the DePaul Blue Demons men's soccer program. Plotkin was previously an assistant coach for the Colgate Raiders men's soccer program. Playing career Youth and college Plotkin was a four-year starter for DePaul, where he made 77 appearances, scoring 4 goals. He earned Big East Conference All-Academic teams in his four years as a player. Coaching career Plotkin immediately began his coaching career after graduating from DePaul University. Craig Blazer
Crag Blazer is the former head coach for men's soccer at DePaul. Under Blazer's guidance, the school made its first NCAA tournament appearance and set a new record for wins in a single season (2007). Blazer's team won the Red Division of the Big East Conference and appeared in the Big East Tournament semifinals. At the time, the team set yet another record: being ranked as high as 17 nationally. The DePaul Blue Demons are the athletic teams that represent DePaul University, located in Chicago, Illinois. The Blue Demons participate in NCAA Division I and are a member of the Big East Conference. DePaul’s Athletic Director is DeWayne Peevy. Bo Oshoniyi
Adegboyega "Bo" Oshoniyi (born November 3, 1971) is a retired American soccer goalkeeper who spent eight seasons in Major League Soccer. He is now the head men's soccer coach at Dartmouth College. Career Oshoniyi's Nigerian father drowned when Bo was four years old. He played college soccer at Southern Connecticut State University, where he helped lead the team to Division II championships in 1990 and 1992. He finished his career at the school with a record of 67 wins, 8 losses, and 7 ties.
