The 2018 NAIA football season was the component of the 2018 college football season organized by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) in the United States. Daytona Stadium
Daytona Stadium, is a 9,601-seat multi-purpose stadium in Daytona Beach, Florida, built in 1988 and home to the Bethune–Cookman University Wildcats football team. It is also used to host home games for the Mainland High School and Seabreeze High School football teams. The stadium is also known as Larry Kelly Field, a name honoring former Daytona Beach Mayor Lawrence J. Kelly. The 2018 Morningside Mustangs football team was an American football team that represented Morningside University as a member of the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) during the 2018 NAIA football season. Trent Solsma
Trent Solsma (born 1990s) is a former college football quarterback who played for the Morningside Mustangs. Early life and college career Trent Solsma was born in the 1990s in Dakota Dunes, South Dakota. He went to high school at Bishop Heelan Catholic High School, leading them to the state championship in 2013. He set records for: passing yards (453), touchdown passes (6), total touchdowns (7, as Solsma also had a rushing score), and pass completions (23) during the championship game. He was then named to the 2013 All-Metro class. Solsma played college football at Morningside College. In his senior year, he was named the NAIA Player of the Year after throwing for 5,097 yards and 68 touchdowns, with only 6 interceptions. He also was named First-Team All-American. NAIA Football National Championship
The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Football National Championship is decided by a post-season playoff system featuring the best NAIA college football teams in the United States. Under sponsorship of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics, the championship game has been played annually since 1956. In 1970, NAIA football was divided into two divisions, Division I and Division II, with a championship game played in each division. In 1997, NAIA football was again consolidated into one division. The 2019 game was played at the Eddie G. Robinson Stadium in Grambling, Louisiana.
