2018 Moto3 Season
The 2018 FIM Moto3 World Championship was a part of the 70th F.I.M. Road Racing World Championship season. Joan Mir was the reigning series champion, but he did not defend his title as he joined Moto2. After winning at Sepang, Spanish rider Jorge Martín was crowned the 2018 Moto3 World Champion, having created an unassailable lead of 26 points over current runners-up Marco Bezzecchi. The final race in Valencia saw wildcard rider Can Öncü become the youngest Grand Prix motorcycle racing winner at 15 years, 115 days. Teams and riders All the bikes used series-specified Dunlop tyres. The Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM; en, International Motorcycling Federation) is the global governing/sanctioning body of motorcycle racing. It represents 116 national motorcycle federations that are divided into six regional continental unions. There are seven motorcycle-racing disciplines that FIM covers, encompassing 82 world championships as well as hundreds of secondary championships: enduro, trial, circuit racing, motocross and supermoto, cross-country, e-bike, and track racing. FIM is also involved in many non-racing activities that promote the sport, its safety, and support relevant public policy. The FIM is also the first international sporting federation to publish an Environmental Code, in 1994. Emilio Alzamora
Emilio Alzamora Escardibul (born May 22, 1973 in Lleida, Spain) is a former Grand Prix motorcycle road racer. He was the 1999 F.I.M. 125cc world champion. He is the second rider to win a Grand Prix motorcycle world championship without having won a race. Alzamora got his start racing in the 80cc class, winning the 1989 80cc championship of Catalunya at the age of 16. In 1994, he made his Grand Prix debut in the 125 class as a member of former world champion Paolo Pileri's team. He moved up to the 250 class in 1997, but after a season marred by injuries, he returned to the 125 class. Alzamora won the 1999 125cc world championship without winning a race by virtue of 10 podium positions, defeating Marco Melandri and Masao Azuma who each had five victories. Tony Arbolino (born 3 August 2000) is an Italian motorcycle racer. Career Moto3 World Championship Sic58 Squadra Corse (2017) He was signed up to race in the Moto3 World Championship for the SIC58 Squadra Corse team for 2017. He scored two points in the whole season, ending up 34th in the standings. Snipers Team (2018–2020) A year later he raced for the Marinelli Snipers Team, scoring his first pole position at the second race of the season, at the Termas de Rio Hondo. Thomas Booth-Amos (born 12 March 1996) is an English motorcycle racer. During 2023 he split his racing, riding in both the Supersport World Championship for Motozoo Kawasaki Racing by Puccetti, finishing in 15th place, and in the British Supersport Championship for Gearlink Kawasaki, finishing in third place. Leopard Racing is a Luxembourg–Italian motorcycle racing team competing in the Moto3 class of the FIM Grand Prix World Championship. The team has won two Moto3 Teams' Championships. History Leopard Racing was founded by Flavio Becca at the end of 2014 with the intention of participating in the Moto3 World Championship the following year.
