2018 Miami Hurricanes Baseball Team
The 2018 Miami Hurricanes baseball team represented the University of Miami during the 2018 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Hurricanes played their home games at Alex Rodriguez Park at Mark Light Field as a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference. They were led by head coach Jim Morris (baseball coach), Jim Morris, in his 25th and final season at Miami. For the second straight season, the Hurricanes failed to reach the NCAA Division I baseball tournament, having done so 44 consecutive times previous to that. Jim Morris (baseball Coach)
Jim Morris (born February 20, 1950) is the former head baseball coach at the University of Miami and Georgia Tech. His teams qualified for NCAA Regionals for 32 consecutive years, 23 at Miami and nine at Georgia Tech. Morris won national championships in 1999 and 2001, and earned National Coach of the Year honors in both seasons. Early career Morris began his coaching career as an assistant at Appalachian State in 1975. In 1976, he accepted the challenge of building, from scratch, a baseball program at Atlanta's DeKalb Community College. At DeKalb, Morris started with no players and no field, but he quickly made a name for himself. His Eagles were nationally ranked three times in four years and advanced to the 1977 Junior College World Series, where DeKalb placed second. Morris added two more winning years at DeKalb before moving on to become an assistant coach at Florida State. 2018 North Carolina Tar Heels Baseball Team
The 2018 North Carolina Tar Heels baseball team are representing the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in the 2018 NCAA Division I baseball season. Head Coach Mike Fox (baseball coach), Mike Fox is in his 20th year coaching the Tar Heels. They play their home games at Boshamer Stadium, Bryson Field at Boshamer Stadium and are members of the Atlantic Coast Conference. The Tar Heels won the ACC Coastal Division, and matched Clemson for the best record in the conference. They reached the 2018 College World Series, their eleventh time advancing to Omaha and first since 2013. John Euliano Park, formerly Jay Bergman Field, is a baseball stadium located on the main campus of the University of Central Florida in Orlando, Florida, USA. The stadium serves as the home of the UCF Knights baseball team. History John Euliano Park was originally built in 2001 as a state-of-the-art facility, featuring an indoor training facility with three batting cages and two pitching mounds.
