2018 MFF Charity Cup
The 2018 MFF Charity Cup (also known as the 2018 MPT Charity Cup for sponsorship reasons) is the 7th Charity Cup, an annual football match played between the winners of the previous National League and Domestic Cup competitions. It was held at Aung San Stadium on 7 January 2018. The match was played between Shan United, champions of the 2018 Myanmar National League and Yangon United, runner-up of the 2018 Myanmar National League. This was Yangon United's 4th Cup appearance and Shan United's 2nd time Cup appearance, they won Charity Cup for the first time as Kanbawza FC in 2016. Background and pre-match Shan United qualified for the 2018 MFF Charity Cup as winners of the 2017 Myanmar National League. It was the club's first time ever league title in 9 years. Patrick Asare
Patrick Asare (born 14 February 1995) is a Ghanaian footballer who plays as a forward for Kaya–Iloilo in the Philippines Football League. Early life Patrick was born in Accra, Ghana where he competed in youth tournaments and was often fielded in matches for higher age groups; Asare was playing for a U-12 team at 8 years old, and for a U-14 team at 9 years old. Yan Naing Oo ( my, ရန်နိုင်ဦး; born 31 March 1996) is a Burmese footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder or a winger for the Myanmar U-19 football team and Shan United. He was born in North Okkalarpa Township, Yangon Division. He also the key player of Myanmar U-20 National Football Team played in 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup. Hein Thiha Zaw ( my, ဟိန်းသီဟဇော် born 1 August 1995) is a footballer from Burma, and plays as a defender for Ayeyawady United. On 13 April in an 2013 AFC Cup game against SHB Đà Nẵng Hein conceded a last minute penalty and was red carded in the last minute of the game. Nguyễn Minh Phương scored the penalty kick to wing the game 3–2. Hein's teammate Phyo Ko Ko Thein was also sent off minutes earlier in the same game. Thiha Sithu ( my, သီဟစည်သူ) is a Burmese professional football player who plays as a goalkeeper for Shan United FC and Myanmar National Football Team. During his career, he played for Ministry of Commerce, Ayeyawady United and Yadanarbon. The Bogyoke Aung San Stadium () is a multi-purpose stadium, located in downtown Yangon, Myanmar. It was built as an athletic ground in 1906, which was completed in 1909 and named as Burma Athletic Association Ground, where many sports were held such as cricket, football and tennis.
