2018 Loiret's 4th Constituency By-election
A by-election was held in Loiret's 4th constituency on 18 March 2018, with a second round on 25 March as no candidate secured a majority of votes in the first round. The by-election was prompted by the invalidation of the election of Jean-Pierre Door, candidate of The Republicans (LR), in the June 2017 legislative elections by the Constitutional Council on 18 December 2017. In the second round of the 2017 legislative elections on 18 June, the result was the closest in the country, with Door winning by 8 votes before the election was annulled. Door won the second round of the by-election with 67.08% of the vote against Mélusine Harlé, candidate of La République En Marche!, with 32.92%. Aurore Bergé
Aurore Bergé (born 13 November 1986) is a French politician who has represented the 10th constituency of the Yvelines department in the National Assembly since 2017. A former member of The Republicans (LR), which she left to join La République En Marche! (LREM) in early 2017, she is considered a close ally of President Emmanuel Macron. Ferrières-en-Gâtinais
Ferrières-en-Gâtinais (; literally "Ferrières in Gâtinais") is a commune in the Loiret department in north-central France. Ferrières was the site of the Benedictine monastery Ferrières Abbey, which had an extensive library in the Middle Ages. Geography The municipality is located in the Gâtinais region, north of the national forest (''forêt domaniale'') of Montargis, 13 km north of the town of Montargis, 81 km north-east of Orléans and 98 miles south of Paris. Mounir Mahjoubi (born 1 March 1984) is a French entrepreneur and politician of La République En Marche! (LREM) who served as a member of the National Assembly from June to July 2017 and from 2019 to 2022. Philippe Vigier (born February 3, 1958 in Valence, Drôme) is a French politician who has been serving as a member of the National Assembly of France since the 2007 elections, representing the Eure-et-Loir department.
