2018 Indonesia Masters
The 2018 Indonesia Masters, officially the Daihatsu Indonesia Masters 2018, was a badminton tournament which took place at Istora Gelora Bung Karno in Jakarta, Indonesia, from 23 to 28 January 2018 and had a total prize of US$350,000. Tournament The 2018 Indonesia Masters was the third tournament of the 2018 BWF World Tour and also part of the Indonesia Masters championships which had been held since 2010. This tournament was organized by the Badminton Association of Indonesia with sanction from the Badminton World Federation, BWF. Venue This international tournament was held at Istora Gelora Bung Karno in Jakarta, Indonesia. This was the first sporting event held there since its reopening after undergoing major renovation. Istora Gelora Bung Karno
Gelora Bung Karno Sports Palace ( id, Istana Olahraga Gelora Bung Karno, abbreviated as ''Istora''), the formerly name ''Istora Senayan'' is an indoor sporting arena located in Gelora Bung Karno Sports Complex, Jakarta, Indonesia. The capacity of the arena after 2018 reopening is 7,166. This arena is usually used for badminton tournaments. Its maiden event was the 1961 Thomas Cup. It was also used during the 1962 Asian Games and was renovated to host the 2018 edition. Its first post-renovation event was the 2018 Indonesia Masters. During the latter Games, it hosted the badminton and later stages of basketball events. The arena originally was planned to stage the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup and becoming the only Indonesian venue in the three-country joint bid but was moved to a newly-built arena inside the complex. BWF World Ranking
The BWF World Ranking is the official ranking of the Badminton World Federation for badminton players who participate in tournaments sanctioned by Badminton World Federation. It is used to determine the qualification for the World Championships and Summer Olympic Games, as well as BWF World Tour tournaments. Seedings of draws at all BWF-sanctioned tournaments are conducted using the BWF World Ranking. Players under 19 years of age are eligible to rank in the BWF World Junior Ranking, which were introduced in January 2011. Rasmus Gemke (born 11 January 1997) is a Danish badminton player. He was awarded the 2012 Badminton Denmark Comet of the Year. Ihsan Maulana Mustofa
Ihsan Maulana Mustofa (born 18 November 1995) is an Indonesian badminton player who plays in singles event. He is from PB. Djarum, a badminton club in Kudus, Central Java and has joined the club since 2010. He was a boys' singles bronze medalist of the 2013 World Junior Championships that was held in Bangkok, Thailand. He played in the decisive matches for Indonesia to win the team event at the 2015 and 2017 Southeast Asian Games. Sameer Verma (born 22 October 1994) is an Indian badminton player. He trains at the Gopichand Badminton Academy, Hyderabad. Sameer is the brother of Indian badminton player Sourabh Verma. Career 2011 Verma won a silver medal in the Asian Junior Championships, held in Lucknow, India and a bronze medal in mixed team event. Angus Ng Ka-long (born 24 June 1994) is a badminton player from Hong Kong. He has a career-high ranking of 6th in the men's singles discipline. Son Wan-ho (Hangul: 손완호; or ; born 17 May 1988) is a South Korean badminton player. He reached a career high as world number 1 in the men's singles in May 2017. He competed at the 2012 and 2016 Summer Olympics. He plays primarily defensively, and began playing badminton after a teacher suggested it to him in elementary school.
