2018 Carpathian Trophy
The 2018 Carpathian Trophy was the 50th edition of the Carpathian Trophy held in Bucharest, Romania between 23–24 November as a women's friendly handball tournament organised by the Romanian Handball Federation. The most recent Olympic champions, Russia, appeared in the competition. It was televised by TVR1 and TVR HD. Knockout stage ''All times are local ( UTC+02:00).'' Romania Women's National Handball Team
The Romanian women's national team represents Romania in senior women's international handball and is controlled by the Romanian Handball Federation, the governing body for handball in Romania. It competes in the three major international tournaments; the Olympic Games, the IHF World Championship and the EHF European Championship. Since first entering World Championship, Romania are the only team to have appeared in all 25 tournaments to date. They were crowned winners in the IHF World Championship three times: 1956, 1960 and 1962, and finished as runners-up in 1973 and 2005 and also finished third in 2015. In team sports, a most valuable player award, abbreviated 'MVP award', is an honor typically bestowed upon an individual (or individuals, in the instance of a tie) whose individual performance is the greatest in an entire league, for a particular competition, or on a specific team. Crina Elena Pintea (née Ailincăi; born 3 April 1990) is a Romanian professional handballer who plays as a pivot for CSM București and the Romanian national team. Considered to be one of the best pivots in the world, in 2019 she was named to the EHF Champions League All-Star Team. In 2018, she was named to the European Championship All-Star Team.
