2018 Bowling Green Falcons Football Team
The 2018 Bowling Green Falcons football team represented Bowling Green State University in the 2018 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Falcons were led by third-year head coach Mike Jinks for the first seven games until he was fired and replaced by interim head coach Carl Pelini. They played their home games at Doyt Perry Stadium in Bowling Green, Ohio as members of the East Division of the Mid-American Conference. They finished the season 3–9, 2–6 in MAC play to finish in a tie for fourth place in the East Division. On November 28, 2018, the Falcons hired Boston College offensive coordinator Scot Loeffler as the new head coach. Mike Jinks
Michael Troy Jinks (born February 7, 1972) is an American football coach, currently the running backs coach for Houston Cougars football. Jinks served as the head football coach at Bowling Green State University from 2016 until midway through the 2018 season, before becoming the running backs coach at the University of Southern California. Previously he was an assistant head coach and running backs coach at Texas Tech University. Early life Jinks was born on February 7, 1972. He played quarterback for three years at Judson High School in Converse, Texas before graduating in 1990. After high school, Jinks played college football at the NCAA Division II level for Angelo State Rams football, Angelo State. The Glass Bowl is a stadium in Toledo, Ohio. It is primarily used for American football, and is the home field of the American football team of the University of Toledo Rockets. It is located on the school's Bancroft campus, just south of the banks of the Ottawa River. The 2018 Toledo Rockets football team represented the University of Toledo in the 2018 NCAA Division I FBS football season. They were led by third-year head coach Jason Candle and played their home games at the Glass Bowl as members of the West Division of the Mid-American Conference. They finished the season 7–6, 5–3 in MAC play to finish in a three-way tie for second place in the West Division. They were invited to the Bahamas Bowl where they lost to FIU. Bobby Dodd Stadium at Historic Grant Field is the football stadium located at the corner of North Avenue at Techwood Drive on the campus of the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta.
