2018 Big Sky Conference Men's Basketball Tournament
The 2018 Big Sky Conference men's basketball tournament was the postseason men's basketball tournament for the Big Sky Conference. The tournament was held from March 6–10, 2018 at the Reno Events Center in Reno, Nevada. Regular-season champion 2017-18 Montana Grizzlies basketball team, Montana defeated 2017-18 Eastern Washington Eagles men's basketball team, Eastern Washington in the championship game to win the tournament and receive the conference's automatic bid to the 2018 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament, NCAA tournament. Reno Events Center
The Reno Events Center is a 7,000-seat multi-purpose arena, located in downtown Reno, Nevada, Reno, Nevada, that was constructed in January 2005. It was the home to the Stockton Kings, Reno Bighorns of the NBA G League from 2008 to 2018 and to the Reno Barons of the Western Indoor Football Association during their short lived 2011 season. 2017–18 North Dakota Fighting Hawks Men's Basketball Team
The 2017–18 North Dakota Fighting Hawks men's basketball team represented the University of North Dakota during the 2017–18 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Fighting Hawks, led by 12th-year head coach Brian Jones, played their home games at the Betty Engelstad Sioux Center in Grand Forks, North Dakota as members of the Big Sky Conference. They finished the season 12–20, 6–12 in Big Sky play to finish in a tie for eighth place. They defeated Montana State in the first round of the Big Sky tournament before losing in the quarterfinals to Montana. This season was the last for North Dakota as a full Big Sky member. The Big Sky Conference men's basketball tournament is the conference championship tournament in men's basketball for the Big Sky Conference. The event has been held annually since 1976, the conference's thirteenth year. The tournament winner earns a berth in the NCAA Division I tournament. 2018 National Invitation Tournament
The 2018 National Invitation Tournament was a single-elimination tournament of 32 NCAA Division I college men's basketball teams that were not selected to participate in the 2018 NCAA tournament. The first three rounds of the annual tournament were played on campus sites (the host team being the higher seeded team). The semifinals and championship game were held at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
