2018 BSN Season
The 2018 Baloncesto Superior Nacional season was the 89th season of the Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN). Piratas de Quebradillas was the defending champion. League news On September 1, the league announced it will not control the Atléticos de San Germán for the upcoming 2018 BSN season, after activating the team last season. There was a commitment to run the team under receivership for a single year until a new owner was found. The good performance of the team has raised the interest of several groups to buy the franchise with a view to the 2018 tournament. On September 14, league president Fernando Quiñones was hopeful that both the A's and Indians' franchise will see action next season under their own administrations although talks are still in preliminary stages. Capitanes De Arecibo
The Capitanes de Arecibo are a Puerto Rican professional basketball team based in Arecibo that competes in the Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN) league. In 2010, the team also had the distinction to play in the Premier Basketball League (PBL) under the name Capitanes de Puerto Rico. The team began play in the league in 1946. Home games are held at Manuel Iguina Coliseum, which the team shares with the Capitanes de Arecibo men's volleyball team. The team has won eight BSN Championships (1959, 2005, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2016, 2018 and 2021) and has had a total 17 finals appearances, being a runner-up 9 times (1932, 1946, 1948, 1961, 1966, 1992, 2007, 2012, 2014, 2015, 2017). Santeros de Aguada was a Puerto Rican professional basketball team of the Baloncesto Superior Nacional. The team was based in Aguada, Puerto Rico. The team moved to Fajardo in 2021, changing their name and re-branding to Cariduros de Fajardo with the move. History The team was founded in 1992 and participated in the now defunct ''Liga Puertorriqueña de Baloncesto'' during seven seasons before folding in 1998 due to financial problems. Raymond Dalmau Coliseum is a multi-purpose indoor arena located in Quebradillas, Puerto Rico. Quebradillas (, ) is a town and municipality of the island of Puerto Rico located in the north-western shore bordering the Atlantic Ocean, north of San Sebastián; east of Isabela; and west of Camuy. Fajardo (, ) is a town and municipality -Fajardo Combined Statistical Area.
