2018 Auckland Darts Masters
The 2018 Auckland Darts Masters, presented by Burger King & TAB was the fourth staging of the tournament by the Professional Darts Corporation, as the fourth entry in the 2018 World Series of Darts. The tournament featured 16 players (eight PDC players facing eight regional qualifiers) and was held at The Trusts Arena in Auckland, New Zealand from 3–5 August 2018. Kyle Anderson was the defending champion after defeating compatriot Corey Cadby 11–10 in the 2017 final, but lost 10–3 to Peter Wright in the quarter-finals. Michael van Gerwen won the title after beating Raymond van Barneveld 11–4 in the final. Prize money The total prize fund was £60,000. The Trusts Arena
The Trusts Arena is an indoor arena located in Henderson, New Zealand, Henderson, Auckland, New Zealand. It is a multi-purpose stadium that primarily holds sports events and music concerts. The Arena was opened by then Prime Minister of New Zealand Helen Clark on 11 September 2004. It holds 4,901 people. Adjacent to the stadium is an outdoor Sport of athletics, athletics facility known as the Douglas Track and Field, which has a capacity of 3,000 people. The sporting complex has been the home of many sporting teams, with the current arena tenant being the Northern Mystics of the ANZ Championship. Clubs based at the adjacent Douglas Track and Field include Waitakere City Athletics Club, Waitakere Rugby Club, and Waitakere United of the New Zealand Football Championship. Cody Harris (darts Player)
Cody Harris (born 10 October 1985) is a former New Zealand darts player. Career Harris comes from a family of dartplayers. His father ran the ACDC Dart Club and Harris watched as a child his parents and other family members when they played. When Eric Bristow came to New Zealand for the WDF World Cup, Harris' father played against him and won. When Harris was around eight years old he for the first time threw a dart. When Harris was nine he won the A grade Championship for the Auckland Darts Association and he for the first time took part in the national championship when he was 13. Many national successes followed including the win in the 2015 Sydney Darts Masters Qualifier and the National Championship 2015. Internationally, his biggest success so far was the last 32 of the Winmau World Masters in 2015 where he lost to Scott Waites 3–0. World Series Of Darts
The World Series of Darts is a series of darts tournaments organised by the Professional Darts Corporation. Beginning in 2013, the World Series has comprised between two and seven tournaments across the world, where a mixture of the top-ranked PDC players take on local qualifiers in a knockout format. Ben Robb (born 24 October 1988) is an New Zealand professional darts player who currently plays in the events of Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). Career Robb made his television debut in the 2018 Auckland Darts Masters, but lost to Simon Whitlock of Australia. Robb subsequently competed in the 2019 Brisbane Darts Masters, losing in the first round to Michael van Gerwen 6–0. Tahuna Irwin (born 8 May 1997) is a New Zealand former professional darts player who plays in Professional Darts Corporation events. Timothy "Tim" Pusey (born 26 August 1992) is an Australian professional darts player who plays in the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. Career A patient care assistant by trade, Pusey has mainly played on the Dartplayers Australia (DPA) Tour. His first big exposure was qualifying for all 3 2018 World Series of Darts events in Australia and New Zealand as the number 1 ranked player in the DPA rankings.
