2018 ATP Finals – Singles
Alexander Zverev defeated Novak Djokovic in the final, 6–4, 6–3 to win the singles tennis title at the 2018 ATP Finals. It was his first ATP Finals title. Grigor Dimitrov was the reigning champion, but failed to qualify this year. Rafael Nadal withdrew from the event due to an abdominal injury and was replaced by John Isner. As a result, Djokovic secured the year-end world No. 1 ranking. Juan Martín del Potro qualified for the first time since 2013, but withdrew with a knee injury and was replaced by Kei Nishikori. Alexander Zverev
Alexander "Sascha" Zverev (; born 20 April 1997) is a German professional tennis player. He has been ranked by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) as high as world No. 2, and was continuously ranked in the top 10 from July 2017 to November 2022. Zverev's career highlights include titles at the 2018 and the 2021 ATP Finals, and a gold medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Kevin Michael Anderson (born 18 May 1986) is a South African former professional tennis player. He achieved his career-high Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) ranking of world No. 5 on 16 July 2018. Gustavo "Guga" Kuerten (; born 10 September 1976) is a Brazilian former world No. 1 tennis player. He won the French Open singles title three times (1997, 2000, and 2001), and was the Tennis Masters Cup champion in 2000. During his career he won 20 singles and 8 doubles titles.
