2017–18 World Boxing Super Series – Super Middleweight Division
The 2017–18 World Boxing Super Series – super middleweight division is a World Boxing Super Series professional boxing tournament taking place between September 2017 and September 2018 in several countries. The Super Series features 8 top-rated super middleweight boxers in a single-elimination tournament. Its winner will hold the WBA's world title, The Ring Magazine title, as well as the Muhammad Ali trophy. The tournament was organized by Comosa AG. A cruiserweight tournament is held concurrently, with prize money for both competitions totalling US$50 million. The World Boxing Super Series (WBSS) is a professional boxing tournament organised by Comosa AG. Each weight class features eight boxers competing in an annual knockout competition with the champion from each weight class taking the Muhammad Ali Trophy, named after the former heavyweight champion Muhammad Ali, and sharing a total prize fund of U.S. $50 million, with winner of each tournament receiving U.S. $10 million History These tournaments are a joint venture between Sauerland Promotions and Richard Schaefer under the Comosa AG banner. Erik Skoglund (boxer)
Erik Skoglund (born 24 May 1991) is a Swedish professional boxer. He held the European Union light-heavyweight title between 2013 and 2014, successfully defending it three times before vacating it. In 2017, Skoglund participated in the World Boxing Super Series, losing to Callum Smith in the super-middleweight quarter-finals. Amateur career Skoglund started his boxing career in 2002, at the age of 11. Nicolaas Hubertus Holzken (born December 16, 1983) is a Dutch super middleweight kickboxer and professional boxer currently signed to ONE Championship, where he competes in the Lightweight division. Vincent Feigenbutz (born 11 September 1995) is a German professional boxer. He held the WBA (Regular) super-middleweight title in 2016 and challenged for the IBF super-middleweight title in 2020.
