2017–18 West Coast Conference Men's Basketball Season
The 2017–18 West Coast Conference men's basketball season began with practices in September 2017 and ended with the 2018 West Coast Conference men's basketball tournament March 2018. This was the 67th season for WCC men's basketball, and the 29th under its current name of "West Coast Conference". The conference was founded in 1952 as the California Basketball Association, became the West Coast Athletic Conference in 1956, and dropped the word "Athletic" in 1989. NCAA Division I
NCAA Division I (D-I) is the highest level of College athletics, intercollegiate athletics sanctioned by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) in the United States, which accepts players globally. D-I schools include the major collegiate athletic powers, with large budgets, more elaborate facilities and more athletic scholarships than Divisions II and III as well as many smaller schools committed to the highest level of intercollegiate competition. Saint Louis Billikens Men's Basketball
The Saint Louis Billikens men's basketball team is the intercollegiate men's basketball program representing Saint Louis University. They compete in the Atlantic 10 Conference. The head coaching position is currently held by Travis Ford. Chaifetz Arena is home to the Billikens. The Billikens have reached the championship game of the NIT tournament four times and have won it once (1948). Josh Perkins
Josh Perkins (born August 25, 1995) is an American professional basketball player for Stal Ostrów Wielkopolski of the Polish Basketball League (PLK). He played college basketball for the Gonzaga Bulldogs. High school career Perkins began his high school career at Regis Jesuit High School in Aurora, Colorado. As a freshman, he helped lead his school to winning the Colorado 5A State Championship, coming off the bench to score 12 points in the title game. Emmett Naar
Emmett Naar (born 3 July 1994) is an Australian professional basketball player who plays for the Heroes Den Bosch of the BNXT League. He primarily plays as point guard. He competed in U.S. college basketball for the Saint Mary's Gaels. College career His junior career was played in Northern Suburbs Basketball Association competition in Sydney. From January 2012 to July 2013, he was a basketball scholarship athlete at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra. Frankie Ferrari
Frankie Ferrari (born December 20, 1995) is an American coach for the San Francisco Dons and former player. He played college basketball for San Francisco and professionally in Europe and the NBA G League. Early life and high school Ferrari was born and grew up in Burlingame, California. He initially attended Burlingame High School, where he was called up to the varsity team as a freshman for the postseason and started as a sophomore but transferred to Archbishop Riordan High School in San Francisco before his junior year. After sitting out the first ten games of the season due to transfer rules, Ferrari was moved to shooting guard and finished second on the team with 10.8 points per game. Yoeli Childs (born January 13, 1998) is an American professional basketball player for the Saga Ballooners of the Japanese B.League. He played college basketball for the BYU Cougars men's basketball, BYU Cougars. High school career Childs played at Bingham High School, a class 6A high school, in South Jordan, Utah. During his sophomore year, the 2013–14 season, he averaged 11.1 points per game and 5.3 rebounds per game as Bingham advanced to the state quarterfinals. During his junior year, the 2014–15 season, he improved his average points per game to 16.4 and his average rebounds per game to 10.7 when Bingham again reached the state quarterfinals.
