2017–18 Watford F.C. Season
The 2017–18 season was the 120th season in the history of Watford and their third consecutive season in the Premier League. They also participated in the FA Cup and EFL Cup. The season covered the period from 1 July 2017 to 30 June 2018. Marco Silva replaced Walter Mazzarri despite resigning as the manager at Hull City who were relegated last season, but after just 26 games in charge, he was sacked and was immediately replaced by Javi Gracia. Watford F
Watford () is a town and borough in Hertfordshire, England, 15 miles northwest of Central London, on the River Colne. Initially a small market town, the Grand Junction Canal encouraged the construction of paper-making mills, print works, and breweries. While industry has declined in Watford, its location near London and transport links has attracted several companies to site their headquarters in the town. Cassiobury Park is a public park that was once the manor estate of the Earls of Essex. The town developed next to the River Colne on land belonging to St Albans Abbey. In the 12th century, a charter was granted allowing a market, and the building of St Mary's Church began. The town grew partly due to travellers going to Berkhamsted Castle and the royal palace at Kings Langley. A mansion was built at Cassiobury in the 16th century. Walter Mazzarri
Walter Mazzarri (; born 1 October 1961) is an Italian former footballer and head coach, most recently in charge of Serie A club Cagliari. After a 14-year playing career with Italian clubs including Reggiana and Empoli, Mazzarri coached several smaller Italian sides and in 2007 took up a managerial position with Sampdoria. With the help of the attacking partnership of Antonio Cassano and Giampaolo Pazzini, he led the team to qualify for the UEFA Cup in his first season, and subsequently reached the Coppa Italia final the next year. In 2009, he joined Napoli, where he implemented a 3–4–3 formation with which he later became associated. Didier Ibrahim Ndong
Didier Ibrahim Ndong (born 17 June 1994) is a Gabonese professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Ligue 2 club Dijon and the Gabon national team. Richarlison
Richarlison de Andrade (born 10 May 1997), known mononymously as Richarlison (), is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays as a forward for club Tottenham Hotspur and the Brazil national team. He began his professional career with América Mineiro in 2015, winning promotion from the Campeonato Brasileiro Série B in his only season before transferring to Fluminense. He totalled 67 matches and 19 goals in his two years there and was named in the Team of the Season when the club finished as runners-up in the 2017 Campeonato Carioca. Troy Deeney
Troy Matthew Deeney (born 29 June 1988) is an English professional footballer who plays as a striker for and captains club Birmingham City. Deeney started his professional career at Walsall. Thomas William Cleverley (born 12 August 1989) is an English professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for club Watford. After starting his career in the youth set-up at Bradford City, Cleverley joined Manchester United at the age of 12. Adrian Mariappa
Adrian Joseph Mariappa (born 3 October 1986) is a professional footballer who plays as a defender for club Salford City. Born in England, he represents the Jamaica national team. He progressed through Watford's youth academy, and started playing for the first team in the 2005–06 season. Although primarily a centre back, he spent some of his early professional career at right back due to competition for places in the middle. In his first spell at Watford, he made 247 first team appearances, including 19 in the Premier League. Sebastian Prödl (born 21 June 1987) is an Austrian former professional footballer who played as a centre-back. A full international from 2007 to 2018, he represented the Austria national team at UEFA Euro 2008 and UEFA Euro 2016. Younes Kaboul (born 4 January 1986) is a French former professional footballer who played as a centre-back for Auxerre, Tottenham Hotspur, Portsmouth, Sunderland and Watford. Miguel Ángel Britos Cabrera (; born 17 July 1985) is a Uruguayan former professional footballer who played as a centre back.
