The 2017–18 season is Swindon Town's 139th season in their existence, and first season back in EFL League Two following relegation from EFL League One. The season covers the period from 1 July 2017 through to 30 June 2018. William Michael Thomas Henry (born 6 July 1998) is an English professional goalkeeper who currently plays for National League South club Chippenham Town. Club career Henry began his career as a youth team goalkeeper with Bristol City before moving to the youth set-up at Swindon Town. In October 2015, Henry joined Shrivenham on loan and made his debut in the Berks & Bucks Senior Cup win against East Hendred. On 30 April 2016, Henry made his professional debut for Swindon Town in the 2–2 draw at Rochdale and saved a first half Ian Henderson penalty. Christopher Robertson (born 11 October 1986) is a Scottish semi-professional footballer plays as a defender for club Coalville Town. He turned professional at Sheffield United in July 2005, but was released by the club after two brief loan spells at Leigh RMI and Chester City. Matthew Eric Preston (born 16 March 1995) is an English professional footballer who plays as a defender for Kidderminster Harriers. Club career Walsall Preston was captain of the Walsall youth team when he signed an 18-month professional contract with Walsall in January 2013. In January 2014 he joined up with Icelandic side ÍBV—managed by former Walsall player Sigurður Ragnar Eyjólfsson—on loan. Benjamin John Purkiss (born 1 April 1984) is an English former professional footballer and former chairman of the PFA. Having failed to break into the Sheffield United first team, he joined Gainsborough Trinity in 2003. He spent four years at the club before winning a move to York City in 2007.
