2017–18 Sunfoil Series
The 2017–18 Sunfoil Series was a first-class cricket competition that took place in South Africa from 19 September 2017 to 25 March 2018. Knights were the defending champions. There was a planned break in the competition between October and February for the first season of the T20 Global League (TGL). However, the TGL was postponed to November 2018, with South Africa's domestic T20 competition moved back from March 2018 to November 2017 to replace it. After the first four rounds of fixtures, all twelve matches had ended in draws. The first win of the tournament came in the fifth round, when Titans beat Lions by nine wickets. By the end of the mid-season break in October 2017, fourteen of the fifteen matches had ended as a draw. Ahead of the final round of fixtures, five of the six teams were still in contention of winning the title. Cricket South Africa
Cricket South Africa (CSA) is the governing body for both professional and amateur cricket in South Africa. In 1991, the separate South African Cricket Union and the South African Cricket Board merged to form the United Cricket Board of South Africa (UCB), ending enforced racial separation governance in South African cricket. Hashim Mahomed Amla OIS (born 31 March 1983) is a South African former international cricketer who played for South Africa in all three formats of the game. Jon-Jon Trevor Smuts (born 21 September 1988) is a South African cricketer who plays for the Warriors in the South African domestic competitions. Mangaung Oval, previously known as Springbok Park, Chevrolet Park, Goodyear Park, and OUTsurance Oval, is a cricket oval in Bloemfontein, South Africa. Justin Lee Ontong (born 4 January 1980) is a former South African cricketer, who played domestic cricket for the Cape Cobras.
