Scottish Professional Football League
The Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL) is the national men's association football league in Scotland. The league was formed in June 2013 following a merger between the Scottish Premier League and the Scottish Football League. As well as operating its league competition, which consists of the top four levels of the Scottish football league system, the SPFL also operates two domestic cup competitions, the Scottish League Cup and the Scottish Challenge Cup. While the Scottish Cup includes all the teams within the SPFL, the competition is run and organised by the Scottish Football Association. Scottish League Two
The Scottish League Two, known as cinch League Two for sponsorship reasons, is the fourth tier of the Scottish Professional Football League, the league competition for men's professional football clubs in Scotland. The Scottish League Two was established in July 2013, after the Scottish Professional Football League was formed by a merger of the Scottish Premier League and Scottish Football League. Since the 2014–15 season, the bottom team has entered a play-off against the winner of a play-off between the winners of the Highland and Lowland Leagues for a place in the following season's competition. Format Teams receive three points for a win and one point for a draw. No points are awarded for a loss. Teams are ranked by total points, then goal difference, and then goals scored. Allan Johnston
Allan Johnston (born 14 December 1973) is a Scottish football player and coach, who was most recently the manager of Queen of the South. Johnston started his professional playing career with Heart of Midlothian and then followed on to French club Rennes before a spell in English football with Sunderland before returning to Scotland with Rangers. Johnston then returned to England with Middlesbrough and Sheffield Wednesday. Johnston returned to Scotland and played out his playing career with Kilmarnock, St Mirren and Queen of the South. Johnston played for Scotland 18 times in full internationals, and also played for the Scotland under-21 and B international teams. Johnston started his managerial career in 2012, as player-manager of Queen of the South. Johnston won the Second Division championship in his first season as a manager, then moved to Kilmarnock. Tommy Wright (footballer, Born 1963)
Thomas James Wright (born 29 August 1963) is a Northern Irish football coach and former player who was most recently the manager of Kilmarnock. As a player, he was a goalkeeper who notably played in the Premier League with Nottingham Forest, Newcastle United and Manchester City. He also played in the Football League with Hull City, Reading and Wrexham, as well as in his native country with Linfield. He was capped 31 times by Northern Ireland. Since retiring as a player he has worked as a coach or manager for Limavady United, Ballymena United, Shamrock Rovers and St Johnstone. He guided St Johnstone to their win in the 2014 Scottish Cup Final, which won the first major national trophy in their history; he left his role there in May 2020. Lewis Vaughan (born 19 December 1995) is a Scottish footballer who plays as a forward for Scottish Championship club Raith Rovers. Career Vaughan started as an under-14 player for Raith Rovers, progressing up the age groups and breaking into the under-19 team. Dunfermline (; sco, Dunfaurlin, gd, Dùn Phàrlain) is a city, parish and former Royal Burgh, in Fife, Scotland, on high ground from the northern shore of the Firth of Forth. Joseph Cardle (born 7 February 1987) is an English footballer who plays for club Kelty Hearts. Cardle tends to be played as a winger but can play on either side. Starting his career at Port Vale in 2005, he made occasional appearances in his three years as a senior player at the club. Following a loan spell with Clyde in 2007, he signed with Scottish club Airdrie United in 2008, winning that year's Scottish Challenge Cup. Michael Francis O'Halloran (born 6 January 1991) is a Scottish footballer who plays for Dunfermline Athletic Born in Glasgow, he began his professional career with English club Bolton Wanderers, but made only made two appearances in three seasons.
