2017–18 Scarlets Season
The 2017–18 season is the 15th season in the history of the Scarlets, a Welsh rugby union regional side based in Llanelli, Carmarthenshire. This season, they are competing in the newly revamped Pro14 as the defending champions, the Rugby Champions Cup and the Anglo-Welsh Cup. This season, Welsh international Liam Williams and Canadian international D. T. H. van der Merwe departed the club, while Welsh internationals Leigh Halfpenny and Tom Prydie and Australia Sevens international Paul Asquith Paul Asquith (born 12 August 1993) is an Australian professional rugby union player. Wayne Pivac
Wayne Pivac (born 1962) is a New Zealand rugby union coach. In November 2019 he replaced Warren Gatland as the Wales national team coach. A former sworn officer in the New Zealand Police, he was a constable at the Takapuna police station on Auckland's North Shore. He played his early rugby at Rosmini College and then Westlake Boys High School. Pivac played senior rugby for both the Northcote and Takapuna rugby clubs. Pivac played for North Harbour Rugby Union while he was a policeman. A recurring knee injury forced Pivac to retire from playing rugby at the age of 28. In 2012 Pivac was named at flanker in the Westlake Boys High school 50 year anniversary greatest First XV. Tom Prydie
Tom Prydie (born 23 February 1992) is a Welsh rugby union player. A fullback who can also play on the wing, Prydie is the youngest player ever to represent the Wales national team and the youngest player in the history of Europe's top rugby union club competition, the Heineken Cup. Early life Born in Porthcawl, a seaside resort near Bridgend, Prydie primarily played football in his early childhood. He represented his primary school, Nottage, at under 11s rugby, within the Bridgend and District Schools' RU. He played for West Wales A (Under 11s) in their victory over East Wales at Virginia Park, Caerphilly RFC, on 10 April 2003. Gloucester Rugby
Gloucester Rugby are a professional rugby union club based in the West Country city of Gloucester, England. They play in Premiership Rugby, England's top division of rugby, as well as in the European Rugby Champions Cup. The club was formed in 1873 and since 1891 has played its home matches at Kingsholm Stadium, on the fringes of the city centre. Rhys Patchell
Rhys Patchell (born 17 May 1993) is a Wales international rugby union player. A fly-half, he plays for Scarlets having previously played for Cardiff Blues. Early life Educated at Ysgol Gymraeg Melin Gruffydd and at Ysgol Gyfun Gymraeg Glantaf. Patchell speaks Welsh, and is an ambassador for the government-supported "Tafwyl" Welsh-language festival. Club career Patchell graduated from the Blues Academy into the full regional side at an early age in 2012 and went on to score more than 600 points in a five-year stint at the Arms Park that saw him make 83 appearances. Steff Evans
Steffan Evans (born 1 September 1994) is a Welsh rugby union player who plays for Scarlets regional team as a fullback and winger, although he has played at centre for Llanelli too. Ryan Elias
Ryan James Elias (born 7 January 1995) is a Welsh rugby union player who plays as a hooker for the Scarlets and the Wales national team. Club career Elias played youth rugby for Carmarthen Athletic, where his grandfather once served as club chairman. He later made the switch to rivals Carmarthen Quins, while progressing through the Scarlets academy. Elias made his professional debut for the Scarlets on 17 November 2013, against the Saracens. Bristol Bears
Bristol Bears (officially Bristol Rugby Club or Bristol Rugby) are a professional rugby union club based in Bristol, England. They play in Premiership Rugby, England's top division of rugby. The club was founded as Bristol Football Club in 1888; between 1921 and 2014, home matches were played at the Memorial Ground, since when they have been played at Ashton Gate Stadium in the south-west of the city. Rhys Jones (rugby Player)
Geraint Rhys Jones is a Welsh rugby union player. A fly half, he is the son of former Wales international Kingsley Jones (rugby union, born 1969), Kingsley Jones. He has played for Wales at under-18, under-19 and under-20 levels, as well as for the Wales national rugby sevens team, Wales Sevens team. Jones played for Sale Sharks, Cardiff Blues and the Cornish Pirates before heading back to Wales to Newport RFC and Wales 7s. Whilst playing for the Cornish Pirates, Jones was selected for the Wales Sevens squad. In May 2010, Jones joined Newport RFC. Dafydd Hughes (born 8 January 1996) is a Welsh rugby union player who plays for the Jersey Reds as a hooker. He is a Wales under-20 international. Tom Grabham
Tom Grabham (born 20 June 1991) is a Welsh former professional rugby union player who played as a wing or scrum-half. Prior to retirement, Grabham played for the Scarlets and the Ospreys. Professional career Grabham began playing for Tondu RFC, and came through the Ospreys development system, also playing for Bridgend Ravens and Aberavon RFC. He made his Ospreys debut on 15 October 2011 in an Anglo-Welsh Cup match against Exeter Chiefs. While with the Ospreys, Grabham underwent a positional change, moving from scrum half to wing.
