2017–18 Ranji Trophy Group B
The 2017–18 Ranji Trophy was the 84th season of the Ranji Trophy, the first-class cricket tournament in India. It was contested by 28 teams divided into four groups, each containing seven teams. The top two teams from Group B progressed to the quarterfinals of the competition. Defending champions Gujarat and Kerala progressed to the knockout stage of the competition after beating Jharkhand and Haryana respectively in the final round of group-stage fixtures. It was the first time that Kerala had progressed to the quarter-finals of the Ranji Trophy. Board Of Control For Cricket In India
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is the national governing body for cricket in India. Its headquarters are situated at Cricket centre, Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The BCCI is the richest governing body of cricket in the world and is part of the ''Big Three'' of international cricket, along with Cricket Australia and the England and Wales Cricket Board. Not Out
In cricket, a batter is not out if they come out to bat in an innings and have not been dismissed by the end of an innings. The batter is also ''not out'' while their innings is still in progress. Occurrence At least one batter is not out at the end of every innings, because once ten batters are out, the eleventh has no partner to bat on with so the innings ends. Usually two batters finish not out if the batting side declares in first-class cricket, and often at the end of the scheduled number of overs in limited overs cricket. Batters further down the batting order than the not out batters do not come out to the crease at all and are noted as ''did not bat'' rather than ''not out''; by contrast, a batter who comes to the crease but faces no balls is ''not out''. Declaration And Forfeiture
In the sport of cricket, a declaration occurs when a captain declares his team's innings closed and a forfeiture occurs when a captain chooses to forfeit an innings without batting. Declaration and forfeiture are covered in Law 15 of the ''Laws of Cricket''. This concept applies only to matches in which each team is scheduled to bat in two innings; Law 15 specifically does not apply in any form of limited overs cricket. Muhammad ( ar, مُحَمَّد; 570 – 8 June 632 CE) was an Arab religious, social, and political leader and the founder of Islam. Robin Bist (born 2 November 1987) is an Indian cricketer who plays for Uttarakhand in domestic cricket. He is a right-hand batsman and an off-break bowler. He was part of Delhi Daredevils squad in the Indian Premier League. Bist was the leading run-scorer of Ranji Trophy 2011–12, where he scored 1034 runs from 16 innings at a whopping average of 86.16 including four centuries. Ponnan Rahul (born 4 February 1992) is an Indian cricketer who represents Kerala in domestic cricket. He is a left-handed top order batsman and occasional right-arm off-spinner.
